Our own little Valentine's Day

Sidney and I don't really celebrate Valentines Day. We're not really into all the 'I'm-going-to-be-sweet-and-buy-something-for-you-because-someone-else-decided-I-have-to-do-that-today-days'. We rather give eachother gifts and be sweet to one another whenever we feel like it. Yes, we are weird that way :P

Anyway, today, it's exactly 5 years ago that Sidney went down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
It's exactly 5 years ago that I said yes, and blushed, because people in the restaurant started applauding.
It's exactly 5 years ago that someone for the first time used your last name for me, because the owner changed my name on the reservationcard, the one I put into our weddingbook.

It seems like ages ago, but in a good way. Like we have been together forever, the way it should be and if it's always been that way. Simply put, it just feels Right.

So today, is our own little Valentines Day, I love you Sidney, with all my heart and everything inside me.

Kruidvat Haul: New Catrice Products

My own Kruidvat doesn't have any new products yet, but the one downtown already had some.

I grabbed a few that I really liked and also found some other cute stuff at the Kruidvat Outlet Store.

Lipstick no. 230, The Worlds Grapest. Looks like a winered with shimmer, and smells pretty sweet. I'm really looking forward to trying this one out :)

Intenif'Eye Wet & Dry Shadow, no. 010, Black Or White Swan ?!
This is a black mixed with silverywhite and copper. It almost looks like part of a mine shaft, the copper, really stands out against the black.

Intensif'Eye, Wet & Dry Shadow, no. 040, Have You Seen Alice?
This is a beautifull green, more green instead of that minty touch that the photo shows.It's a mixture of a lot of different greens, I love it.

Absolute Eye Colour, no. 490, Vanessa's Paradise.
It's looks like a glittery turquoise and I think it will look fabulous, combined with Sugarpill's Darling. The photo shows a bit more blue than it actually is.

Gel Eye Liner, no. 040, Sherlock & Khaki Holmes.
I love the gelliners by Essence, but I don't have any by Catrice yet. This looked like a special colour though, reminded me a bit of Gosh' Metallic Brass eyelinerpencil. It looks more like a goldenbrown in the jar, but maybe the khaki shows up more when swacthed.

Then I found these two in the salesbin:

Absolute Eye Colour, no.330, I Think I've Green You Before.
I'm not sure how to describe this colour.....icy green? Mint green mixed with gold?

Aboslute Eye Colour, no. 300, Pink Rock Super Star.
If the colour didn''t make me want this one, the name would have. :)
It's a very bright in-your-face pink with a tiny shimmer in it. The photo is really a toned down version of this colour, such a shame.

I also went by the Kruidvat Outlet Store, and there I found these lovelie things for a very small amount of money.

You should know by now, that I'm a big lover of peacockfeathers and such. If you didn't know, than you haven't been reading everything I've written so far. Shame on you! ;)
These little booklets, shoppinglists, notes thingies, whatever, only cost me 1 euro each. I had to stop myself from buying everything with this print, because I think it's cute. But I wouldn't really used the way too tiny post-its and the adressbook(since I already have one).

At the register, this box caught my eye. I had to debate with myself if I would buy it or not, but for 7,50 euro, how could I resist?

I already own a very nice haircurler with lots of different pieces to creates different hairstyles. But it doesn't have a very BIG curler of a very small one, something I really missed. And for this amount of money, I could always give it to someones else, or save it for a giveaway ;)

Jewelry/Hair Haul: Your Feather Fashion

I love feathers, especially peacockfeathers and ravenfeathers. I like the multicolours in them, and I own a lot of them. I even made costumes with them. :)

So when I saw the earrings on the Your Feather Fashion site, I was immediately in love.
The earrings were made from long sword feathers, that have the shockingly beautiful greens and blues in them. I already own earrings with normal peacockfeathers, but these were something new. You don't see a lot of earrings with peacock sword feathers. I have a deep love for simple things that are slightly different. :)

When I got them, I hinted that they would look good as hairextensions aswell. Yolanda already had feather hairextensions on her site, something that I had been looking for in NL for quite a while. But these were not with the little hairclips that are used for normal hairextensions. I like those clips, because I want to be able to change my hair and extensions everyday. Apparantly, she was looking for those clips, so when I pointed her to a shop that sold them, she could make them with the clips aswell. :)

A little while later, she had new feather extensions on her facebookpage, and well, I wanted the one with the peacock sword feathers, badly, hahaha.
She send the stuff immediately after payment, which was the very next day!

EOTD: Blue and Browns

Since I love the combination of colours in MAC's BlueBrown pigment, I decided I needed to do a look with these colours.

I love the way these brands and colours all blended together, so you can't really tell how many colours were used.

I like the effect of the sparkly blue on the more neutral brown. It's a combination that I'll definately use more often.

A quick LOTD before going out the door:

I'm not sure what I'm wearing on my lips here, I think its Gosh' soft n shine Aubergine. Not sure though, my lips always reflect weird on cam and make colours look totally different.
I was wearing a long black knitted sweater with a hoodie, bright red skinny jeans, black anklehigh boots and red/black leaopardprint earrings.

NOTD: Dirty Berry

Since my nails are having a wonderfull time tearing and ripping off my fingers, here's an oldie that I haven't posted yet.

This is Dirty Berry by Catrice. It's a wonderull lilac with almost holographic shimmer in it.

It applied easy and dried pretty fast, to it's another great polish by Catrice.

I do have to admit though, that the colour was a bit too light, too pastel for me. I really don't like pastelcolours on me. So when Wendy told me she loved the colours on my nails, I just gave her the whole bottle. :)

Haul: spoiling myself after dentist appointment

On wedndesday, I went to the dentist. I had to have my molar sized down, to fit the new crown that will be put on top of it. I had a wonderfull time, which may seem weird, but my dentist and her assistent are really sweet and funny people. They kept making me laugh while I had to bite down on polymers for molarprints and they complimented me on my makeup and how symmetrical my eyebrows were. We talked a lot about makeup and work and other stuff. Apparantly, the assistent is a big fan of the store I work for and my dentist comes from Brabant aswell.
Anyway, I declined the anesthetic, because I never have those and the one time I did(when my wisdomteeth had to be remove in the hospital) it just felt really weird. She though she gave me one last time, but when she looked it up, found out she didnt. When I told her I never had any, my molars all have fillings and that I had years of braces and my jaw even was pulled to the front, she shrugged and said 'well that's a big difference from a client i had yesterday!' and they both laughed. Anyway, I declined, it hurt, but nothing I couldn't handle, and after an hour I was walking outside again. In 3 weeks I will have my crown and thats will be that. Sid had told me that I should buy myself a present afterwards, so that's what I did!

At Inglot I bought:

No. 86 which is a beautifull copperyred colour with copperpink glitter in it.
And no. 22 which is a gorgeous purple with a LOT of gold in it.

Chatted for a while with the girl behind the counter, about makeupbrands and fake lashes and fantasy outfits, and I had to promiss her to come back someday, to have her do some crazy makeup on me. :)

Then I stopped by Kuci Muci, and picked up these earrings and the bracelet:

The earrings are really long, I love to play with long earrings during the day.
The bracelet is made of leather and has a pattern of roses. Love it, it was marked down to 3 euros.

At Ici Paris XL, I bought this eau de toilette for Sid, which was marked down for less than 20 euro. Normally he uses perfumes by Givenchy and Rochas, but we both love this 'discount'scent.

I read some reviews about this new clinique cream and thought it would fit me perfectly. I thought it would be a lot more expensive, But I payed around 25 euros for it!
I also had a giftcertificate, so it was even less! I got 3 samples with it, but I forget to put them on pics.

Alkmaar now has a Claire's since about a month! Yeay, I really missed that store since I stopped working in Amsterdam. I bought:

Fake red (allaround) clipin hair and a little bracelet with studs. I love this colour red and its too wide for me, so I'll probably cut it smaller and make small clipins for myself from the leftovers.

A Kruidvat I bought some things that were discontinued and/or on sale:

Lipglosses, eyeliner, cuticleoil and a ducochrome (?) gold/green eyeshadow.

I also finally found this bottle! Seems a much easier way to remove nailpolish :)

I also bought some Andrelon styling and haircare, because it was a buy 2 and get 2 free deal.
And at Etos, I also got some Glisskur hairserums, because those were 2 for 7 euros.
I also reserved and paid for 2 xboxgames at Gamemania for Sid :)

You might remember the Anita Blake books that were on my bdaywishlist.
I've read the series before, but I loaned the first 13 orso from a collegue of sid. Since Im a big re-reader I wanted the whole series. I already had 13(?) and up and the first 3, so I needed the ones in between. I would get them on friday, but Bol.com was fast as usual and I got them on wednesday, which was perfect, because I just finished the last book that I had.

If you like smutty books, go and check this serie out. It starts off pretty smutfree, but it gets smuttier each book. Im now reading book 4 and there hasnt really been any smut yet. BUT be prepared in the end theres a LOT of smut. If you;re not into that, don;t read this series. I love it, because it's about lycanthropes, necromancers, zombies, ghouls, vampires, etc etc etc. I really love the main character(s), and how the books are written.

Im a big re-reader, I tend to reread a series everytime there's a new book. Which is at least once every year, and a lot of different series that I read are still getting new books added. LOVE that!

EOTD: Superunknown

Another one that was lost in December.

I really have no idea what products I used here, but I really like the look, so I wanted to post it anyway.

I -THINK- that the colour on my moving eyelid is Evil Shades' Drakon, but I'm not a 100% sure.

Above the crease, could be any red/cranberry colour. Might be by Evil shades, or maybe Catrice, or it might even be MAC's Heritage Rouge. Might even be a lighter pinkish colour....Damn, I seriously have to start writing these things down, hahah.
In the crease is probably a plain black...orrrrr a black with shimmer in it, that never photographs right.
It's almost like a puzzle!

I really love the green below the eye, but I have NO idea which one it is. I have a hunch that it's Gosh' Golden Moss eyeliner with something on top. But I have no idea which eyeshadow or pigment that could be.

Still, I think this is a lovely colourcombo, and when I finally remember which products I used, I'll wear it again, hahah.

EOTD: Hysteric Absinthe with Sugarpill

Another 'lost in December' EOTD.

I'm pretty sure that the purple I used was Sugarpill's Hysteric, even though the flash made the pics look much brighter. It looks a bit more like Weekender now, but it's really Hysteric.

I love the combo of green and purple, but I alwasy forget that, when I'm doing my makeup.
This was one day that I finally remembered.

I used no toher products then Sugarpills beautiful green Absinthe and purple Hysteric. I normally tend to use a lot more colours, or at least a darker eyeliner, so this was a bit different.

This was right before I went to work in the evening. I usually work fridaynights, because that's the only night our store is open in the evening. This wa, my collegues don't have to work 12 hour shifts :)

Just a bit of Gosh' The Soft Touch on my lips and I was good to go!

I wore simple black treggings, a grey longshirt with cute lace hearts on it and a black knitted bolero. In my hair I had little hairpins with black and white skull&bones design on them.

EOTD: Some Browns

Another EOTD that got lost in busy december.
I honestly have no idea what colours I used for this EOTD, hahaa.

At least I'm pretty sure that I used Sleek's Oh So Special palette. but that's about it. I have no idea which colours I used. Care to make a guess? ;)

I do know that I used Dolliwink eyeliner above the eye and for the wing, and Gosh's Black Ink eyeliner below the eyes.

I -think- I'm wearing the red Kate Moss lipstick by Rimmel, but I can't tell for sure, because my camera tends to make all kinds of reds look the same. But I think I remember I used a colour that matched the ribbon from my Alchemy necklace.

It's a simple look, but one that I really like to wear, especially with the red lipstick.

EOTD: Black and White with Sugarpill

Ofcourse, I really wanted to try out my new Sugarpill eyeshadows, and I decided to do a look with just Tako and Bulletproof.

Unfortunately, my lens was dirty or something, so not all pics are clear and/or focused. I didn't notice untill after I put the pics on my computer. But I liked the look because it was different, so I still wanted to show you.

I applied Tako all over my moving eyelid. I was really impressed with the white, because most whites I own tend to be a bit see-through. Not Sugarpills Tako tough! I only needed a little for my whole eye.

Then I used Bulletproof to make a cut crease and blended it out towards my eyebrows.

I used a little bit of Tako as eyeliner above my lashes, and also a bit below my eyes.

It's a fairly simple EOTD, but I really liked the effect!

I was wearing a black top with a black knitted bolero. Black leggings, black combatboots, black and white plaited skirt and a black and white scarf in my hair.

Because I wanted to add some colour to my face, I used Sleek's Cranberry on my lips. I love this matte cranberry red colour!
I also used a little bit of the Fenberry blush on my cheeks. Both are from the Limited Edition The Cranberry Collection.
Other prodcuts used:
Essence Crystalliced liquid highlighter (LE) on my cheekbones
Inglot concealer on the wings of my nose.

Enchantra and Yves Rocher Haul

Another haul?? Well, I wasn't really looking to buy a lot, but I wanted to order some things from the Enchantra sale.
And then.... Enchantra's site went crazy and just gave out random discounts on products, like a freaky version of russian roulette..with makeup! I wasn't sure if the order would come through, but it was already at my home a few days later.

These products were the ones I was going to order initially:

3 different facemasks in handy tubes. And a mild eyemakeup remover I wanted to try out.

I got this for free:

Cottonpads, 2 samples and a new mascara.

I also got this bag for free with this order. It's officially a small gym bag, but I will probably use it for weekends away and stuff like that. I really like the special compartment at the bottom for shoes!

I only ordered for about 10 euros and the rest was FREE! I like free! hahahaha.

Fashion and Makeup Haul

It's been quite a while since I've really posted a haul, so I collected some of the stuff I bought and made pics of them.

My most recent buys: A red skinny jeans(!!!) and a black sweater with cute buttons on the sleeves.
I was so excited when at work (Takko) we finally got RED skinny jeans in grownup sizes! We had them before, on the teenager department, but even though the tops and such fits me easily, I just have a way too rounded ass to fit into teenage skinny jeans. Even when they normally fit a grownup.
Anyway, this skinny fits me like a glove, without it being uncomfortable, and it only cost me 16 euro, SCORE!

Black combatboots from the local army dumpstore. My old ones were 8 years old, repaired on the inside for the heels. You know, the part that loses its leather after wearing them for a couple of years? My repairguy put in some new leather on the inside of the heels which made them wearable again.(for only 4 euro!) But, unfortunately, the bottom of the heel got too thin aswell, and in the end, I was walking on a nail. So I decided it was time for new ones! I had to order them, because most dumpstores don't carry all sizes, let alone my size. I have a 325 S, which is a 37,5 (europeon size), Small width. They are soooooooo deepblack and shiny! Hopefully I can keep them this black, necause my old ones were really worn out.
I used to wear these to festivals and such only, because they had gotten uncomfortable, but now I'll start wearing them again when I have to walk a lot, I love the way they still work for me with a short skirt. :)

A satin pencilskirt by Neckermann.com. I love 50's/vintage style clothing or something inspired by it. So it's not that strange that I love this skirt. It's a satin skirt, with little black buttons on the front to the side, and ends in a little split on the knee. Cuteness overload!

Black tight lace skirt by H&M. I was going to make one myself after searching for one for quite a while and having some leftover from the pimping of my new years dress. But then I found this one for just a couple of euros and decided to take it with me. I'll make one myself anyway, but might make it a bit different now...or not..it's different lace anyway.
And a black tight skirt with a nice wavy pattern on the fabric from Coolcat. I wore this one on the second day of christmas.

Black knitted longshirt/dress by Takko. I thought immediately of all the (open) knitted shirts I had when I was a teenager. I loved those so I really wanted to have this one. It's not normally knitted, but you can see through it. So I can wear a different colour beneath it! :)

Sid's eye fell on this cardigan, because of the collar. He likes these on me, and I have to say that I really like this cardigan aswell. I didn't have a black one with a fluffy colour yet, so *yeay*.

A grey/black striped basic longshirt/dress from H&M. It was only a couple of euros and these are great in summer or just with a long cardigan in winter. Sorry for the blurry pic, I didn't notice it untill I was writing the blog.

A black blazer with a detachable hoodie by Takko. This one is from the teenager department again. It's a bit too big, but I'll take it in. It was on sale and I really wanted it. Since the biggest size was the last one left, I didn't really have a choice :)

Hold ups from the Kruidvat Outlet Store, for 2 or 3 euros, don't remember correctly anymore. The holdup part has black hearts in it and 2 red bows on top of it. Cute!

Some makeup stuffies I bought. Mostly LE's by Catrice and Essence. Some Catrice mono eyshadows, a 2True glitter eyeliner and a Manhattan lipgloss and eyeshadow.

I also bougth cupcakemix and cupcake holders at Cupcake & Co, where I got to taste a little cupcake that was baked inside an icecreamcookiecup. *yum* Also a great idea to try out sometime :)

EOTD: Grapefruit, Berry and Plum

Even though, I'm trying to catch up on the EOTD's from december, I still wanted to share this recent one first. Because I still know which products I used right now, hahaha.

Lately, I've been trying out some lighter colours, especially on the moving eyelid. I'm usually a fan of a bit darker colours, but I think I'm beginning to like this kind of EOTD's.

Products used:
Manhattan Magic Duo, Berry Mauve, just the pink colour.
Catrice Absolute Eye Colour, Heidi Plum
Catrice Absolute Eye Colour, Berry Fairy (LE)
Catrice Absolute Eye Colour, Gilbert's Grapefruit
Manhattan Multi Effect Eyeshadow, Black
Catrice Liquid Metal Gloss, Walk on Air (LE)

I really like the way these colours blend into eachother easily. You can't really tell where one colour ends and the next one begins. I didn't have to work for this, the eyeshadows just blend into eachother, while applying.

The colours were a bit darker though, (check the pick above for Heidi Plum), but I still think it shows the colours nicely.

I didn't use a gel- or liquid liner for the black line above my lashes. Just a slanted brush and the Black Manhattan eyeshadow. This way, it gives a much softer effect, which I think fits with the EOTD.

Above and below, you can see the berry/purple effect better, it's all a matter of lighting.

Below, I'm just wearing some of the lipgloss, which I think is a bit too light for my skintone, but if I mix it a tiny bit with it's sister( Rosey &Cosey), it looks much better.

The flash makes everything a bit too washed out though, but hey, I just had to share my weird face :P

Which kind of EOTD, do you think suits me better?

EOTD: Simple Purples

Since I've been really busy in December, I found a LOT of pics of EOTDs that haven't been posted yet. Unfortunately, I don't know all the 'ingredients' used on those pics. But I'll try and see if I can come up wit most of them :)

For this EOTD, I wanted to use the purple eyeliner form he LE collection Meet me @ Holographics.com by Essence. It's called Blue Ray, probably, because it has these awesome blue/silver shimmer in it

As far as I can tell, I'm wearing Sugarpill's Weekender on my moving eyelid.

And I think I recognize Sugarpil's Hysteric above the crease. I know I've used more colours, but I can't recognize them just from these pics.

I think I'm wearing Catrice's Tell me Berrytale on my lips, but I'm not entirely certain.

I really like this colourcombination, that's why I still wanted to show in on the blog :)

NOTD: My Sparkling Acrobat

This is an NOTD I did in the week before christmas wih the LE nailpolish My Sparkling Acrobat. It's from the Circus Circus collection by Essence.

This colour3 polish consist out of a very nice black polish and a gorgeous golden glitterpolish. The glitterpolish has small glitters in it aswell as bigger square ones. You can use them on their own or on top of eachother for a special effect.

I applied the black polish first, which applied really smooth and superfast! Definately a great black to have on standby. Then I applied the golden glitter at the tips, a bit unrefined, because I didnt want it to look like a French Manicure. I just wanted to give it a glitter effect.

The glitter doesn't feel too rough, so you don't really need a topcoat if you don't want to. I did thought, because when working with clothing, you don't want to get caught on fibres.

I really liked this combo, and I think these are great circus colours. Theese would fit perfectly with a party of something like that, but is ofcourse beautiful to use in an every day mani aswell.

Tag: Are you a real Beautyfreak?

I saw this tag at Enchanting Beauty and saw my name at the bottom, apparantly I was tagged as a beautyfreak. Since I usually forget to do these things, I decided to fill it in immediately. So here goes.
It's a Dutch tag, but 'll try and translate it for you ;)

-What the most recent beautyproduct that you bought, that you had to save up money for?
Pfffft I don't know really. I don't buy a lot of expensive beautyproducts. I think the most recent one was the Clinique eyecream. I had samples of it and really loved it, but thought that almost 30 euros was a bit much. In the end, I bought it with a discount and got a free eyeserum and mascara from Clinique :)

If you were a beautyproduct, what would you be and why?
That's a really difficult question for me, because I always find it hard to describe myself. I think it would have to be a big eyeshadowpalette, with lots of bold and dark colours. A mixed palette of glittery, shimmery and duochrome colours (Something that would come close that Sugarpill's Chromalusts) No mattes though, I don't like mattes at all and they don't suit me. I'm a lover of basic things, but I adore things that are just a tad different than 'normal'. There's a lot more to me then meets the eye, especially if you really get to know me. Like with duochrome colours, it all depends on the lighting and the base you use. I'm the same, it all depends on the situation and the person I'm with. In the end, I'm a very trustworthy and loyal friend, just like a good eyeshadow stays with you as long as you want it to.

How many girlfriends do you have, that you can talk to about that perfect blush or that fabulous eyeshadow?
Not a lot, I tend to talk to people about anything but makeup, most of the time. But I do talk about it sometimes with my awesome collegues at work, and with my hubby actually. He knows more about makeup than any heterosexual, married, gameloving guy who's not a makeupartist, should ;)
I've also met some wonderfull girls/woman through other makeupblogs and twitter and such.

When was the last time you have thrown away makeup?
Hmm I cant remember. I actually only throw something out', if it's gone bad. And that almost never happens to me. I still own some of my first nailpolishes and my first coloured liquid eyeliner. I do swap some stuff or just give it to others if I don't like it or don't use it anymore. I'm not a big fan of throwing things away that can still be used by others. So it's probably been an empty mascara roller or something like that.

How did the makeupmadness start with you?
At a very early age, but I didn't get to play around with it. I've had severe eczeme and was quite allergic to anything makeup related. I couldn't smear anything on my face really. That's why I always ended up being the nonmakeup kid on pics at pre/middle school when we got to dress ourselves like cats/zwarte piet/etc. I used to have this cool makeup head that had gorgeous pink hair and lots of makeup with it. And my mom confiscated the makeup, because she was worried I'd get some on my face. I could still use the makeuphead for its hair though. I wanted to be a hairdresser/makeupartist back then. So I ended up with a plastic lipstick and such and played with that. It wasn't untill much later that I started wearing makeup. First the bit more expensive drugstrore brands, because those were the only one my face could deal with, and later on, any brand I wanted. It wasnt untill I was about 13, that I really started wearing (brown/gold) eyeshadow and mascara. At home I experimented with purple eyeshadow on my lips and such, but never outside the house.
Then it really started firing up again a few years ago, when people at the Lush forum started talking about makeup and 88palettes.

When a non-makeupfreak asks you how many nailpolishes or eyeshadow you have, do you give an honest answer?
Why would I lie? Everybody has a hobby and I have several actually. I just wouldn't really know how much makeup I have to I'd probaly answer: too much/many. Just like my clothing/fabric or books :P

How many times do you stop by the drugstore when you don't really need something?
Not as much as I used to. I have a great stash nowadays, so I always think twice before adding to it.
I mostly look at Limited Edition collections or colours that I like a lot. And ofcourse, I work during storehours, so it's not like I always have the time.

How much time do you spend each day on the internet, reading about beauty?
Some days way too much, other days none at all. I can stay offline for days on end, if I don't feel like it and not even miss it.

What's your favourite makeup item?
Another difficult question! I think I have to say eyeshadow/pigments. They can really change the way you look and I tend to use colours according to my mood/outfit/etc. I also love the way you can blend them into different colours and how you can combine colours you never thought off into beautiful combinations.

Do you have a wishlist, and how many items are on it?
Not really. I tend to see stuff and think 'Oeeee I'd love to have that' and forget about it within the hour. If I -really- want something and am able to get it, I just go and get it. But that doesn't happen a lot. I tend to make a wishlist for my birthday though, and that one's always pretty extensive, because I add stuff to it when I see something and I always hope it helps people to think up a present for me. But it's not like I can't live without anything on the list, and there's always stuff that I'll never buy on it aswell. I can be a bit of a hoarder sometimes, but not in a way that I -have- to have everything I like. Some things seem to expensive for me and makes me not wanting to have it anymore. I also love the excitement of saving up for something or waiting for something for a long time. It's probably the anticipation of getting it some day that I like most. So I'm not really a 'Want it and get it NOW' kind of person.

NOTD: My christmas nails

When Wendy came to meet/visit us, we went to the mall we live nearby. At one shop, she spotted this glitterpolish that, according to her, would look perfect with my green christmas dress. She was right ofcourse, and since it was 2 for 5 euros, she bought the same polish herself.
It's by W7, and it's called Cosmic Green.

I used Sleek's Poison Ivy as a base. This is a really dark green and it dries pretty quickly, something I like a lot. I usually don't have the patience to wait for a polish to dry, which can end up in a naildisaster. ;)
Then I applied Cosmic Green over it, and loved the effect that it gave.

Cosmic Green consists mostly of green glitter, but it also has some blue glitters in it and some gold.

Without Flash:

I never used anything by W7, but I have to say, I'm impressed. It's really a pretyy glitter polish, for only 2,50 euros!

EOTD: First look with Sugarpill's Asylum

I finally finally FINALLY have Sugarpills Asylum, the only chromalust left, that I didn't have. So now, my collection is complete!'*does a little happy dance*

I used NYX jumbopencil Black Bean, as a base. I always have to look out with this one, because it can crease if I don't blend it out enough. But if I blend it out too much, it won't be sticky enough.

I used Sugarpill's Asylum, which is a beautifull red, on my whole eyelid. In the jar it looks a bit of a rustyred but over Black Bean it's a pretty bright firetruck red.

Above the crease, in the outer V and below my eyes, I used Fyrrinae's Fyre and Ice. It's a black with beautifull glitter in it. Ofcourse, my cam didn't really picture those.
I lined the top of my eyes with a black gelliner by Essence.

I applied some Every Day Minerals Plum Dust on my cheeks, a bit too much for my taste, but people actually liked that and commented on it during the night. Hmmm okaaayyyy.

On my lips, I applied NYX lipstick Hebe, which to me matched perfectly with Asylum.

I tried to capture the real red colour of my hair on cam, but no matter what I do, it always turns out darker. It really is a much brighter red now, with the right lighting. Indoors it looks more toned down.

I got a lot of compliments on this makeup that day, (it did look better in real life) when I actually wasn't that thrilled about it myself. I love the red though, especially Asylum, but it might have looked better if I used a bit of foundation to give my skin a bit more colour. The contrast between the makeup and my skintone is pretty high here.
*shrug, oh well, you live and learn.

I forgot to make outfit pics, boo! So I made these after I got home, and was pretty tired.
I was wearing black leggings, black knitted bolero, black pumps with buckles around my ankle, and this pretty dress that I pimped. It was nonstretchy satin with lace at the bottom, which fit like a glove, but I wanted to be able to eat, sit down and such, so I removed the bottom and put some stretch tricot and stretchlace on it.

I also wore a necklace, sid gave me years ago and the earrings he gave me a few months ago.

Tired me:

Wearing a bit of Manhattan Powder Rouge, Elegenat Violet, and NYC Pandora lipstick.(which is a bit more purple than the pink it shows here)

NOTD: New Years Eve Nails

I decided to go with ourple for New Years Eve, and I wanted it to sparkle. So I grabbed a holographic polish by Teeez!, called Outta Control and one by Nubar, called Violet Sparkle.

I've tried all kins of lighting and settings from my cam, but they all turned out much more blue then it really is. Violet Sparkle really is a bright violet and Outta Control is a lilac/purple.

With flash:

I applied Outta Control over the whole nail, and then applied some Violet Sparkle on the tips. Not really in a straight line, just a bit messy, to make the colours flow into eachother a bit more.

Daylight without flash:

I think the one above shows a bit of the true colour of Violet Sparkle, the tiny pink dots. In real life, it's saprkle galore! Such a shame I can't get the right colour and the enthousiasm the sparkles have on camera.
It's all much more pink/redtoned than above.

Here it is again, another year gone by, while it feels like it has just begun.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

It's been another year filled with wonderfull and sad things...

-I got a very nice gift from someone who knew I loved something on Etsy and knew I couldn't buy it because I dont own a creditcard. You know who you are, you are awesome!
-I finally got to go to Bodyworlds, the exhibition of reallife bodies. It was a terrible rainy day, and all of the public transport was down in Rotterdam, but we still had fun.
-Last time I brought back Skullcandy headphones and demanded (and got) my moneyback. 3 different ones broken within 2 years was enough.
-I finally got my Chanel Rouge Noir lipstick.
-I participated in a Dare for the first time.
-We went to dinner with the girls from work and had loads of fun.
-I quit my job at Lush after 3,5 years.
-We went to Paganfest, Elf Fantasy Fair, Castlefest, Efteling, Artis, Whiskeytastingevent.
-I went to the Enchantra showroom for the first time.(and the second time and the third, and...)
-My parents were married for 35 years and we celebrated.
-Our beloved cat Greebo died unexpectedly :'(
-The mother of our other cats had another nest of kittens
-We took in another kitten, Freya became a part of our little family.
-My parents neighbour, who I have known for 24 years, died at age 90.
-I missed my mothers birthday because Sid was sick.
-Sid needed our insurances: he broke his phone and a laptop.
-I won shoes and a camera online, I also won a Dare.
-We had our leather wedding anniversary, 3 years.
-We got a new addition to the family: Maaike.
-I turned the big 3-0.
-Merlijn went to highschool for the first time.
-Sid and I had our 8 year anniversary.
-I broke a molar, and broke it again 2 weeks after. *sigh*

I do hope my beloved's health will improve in 2012, because 2011 was a pretty bad year for him. So let's hope the best days of 2011, will be the worst of 2012!

I wish my family all the best in the new year, and hopefully, we will see eachother a bit more.
Mom, Dad, I love you to death, and even though we don't get to see eachother much, it doesn't mean I don't think about you. You mean the world to me, don't ever forget that!

To my lexlings, another year has gone by filled with joy, laughter, but also tears. I want to send a big hug to both Terry and Sarah. You both had a pretty rough year, and I hope you will find love and happiness in 2012. You both deserve it so much! To Lyndsey and Megan, you were both beautifull brides! Told you so! ;) I wish you all the happiness in the world with your beloved. To Paula, I finally met you in real life! You're a wonderfull person and I never thought I would meet the one lexling that came all the way from Brasil :)
And no, my dearest lexlings, I haven't forgotten about the rest of you. May all your dreams come true in 2012!

To Wendy, who I finally met in real life this year. You're an amazing person, with so much love to give. It felt like I'd known you forever. I'm gratefull you came into our lives, and hopefully we'll be seeing a lot of eachother this upcoming year. And not to go into much further detail: I just want to see you happy *hugs* :)

To Barbara, even though an ocean is between us, en we both lead pretty busy lives, I haven't forgotten about you! *sm00ch*

I want to congratulate Sanne and Mark, with their new addition to the family, Maaike. Finally we have a little girl in the family! Unfortunately, I still haven't had time to make a cute dress, but she'll be around for many more years to come :)

To the girls at work, people who read my blog, and well, everyone else out there who cares: I wish everyone a year filled with joy and laughter and lots of happiness.

Ofcourse I can't forget to congratulate my uncle, because today it's his birthday!

And ofcourse, my beloved Sidney....where to start? Another year has passed with beautifull and happy moments, but also with a lot of tears and pain. We lost one of our beloved cats, she left a hole that cannot be filled. But I also know Freya makes you smile a lot and that the pain will fade until she'll just be a happy and loved memory to us. We also celebrated our 8 years together and our 3 year wedding anniversary. It only seems yesterday, that we met, or that we signed our names on the contract. But at the same time, it feels like we have know eachother for ages.
It seems we always have this balance of happiness and bad luck in our lives, which can make it feel like a rollercoaster. But in the end, we always come out together, alive and kicking. :)
I love you for making me feel I'm a better person, for making me feel like I'm your number one. For always backing me up, always being my rock in stormy weather, and for laughing at my dumb jokes. For always taking the heaviest groceriebag, for letting me yell and rant when I need to. For the tiny little things you do, to make me feel better when I didn't even know I needed it, and for being the sweetest husband a girl could ask for.
I love you, plain and simple. No masks, no buts, no trying-to-change-you tactics. I love you for who you are, and who I am when I'm with you. Let's make 2012 the best year ever together! *w00p w00p*

Christmas Outfits and Makeup

It's a tradition at Sid's parents house, to eat breakfast in the middle of the night on christmas eve. Nowadays, it's getting harder to keep up that tradition with 2 12 yr olds, 2 small children, and people who've been working all day and are tired. But we always try, so this year, we brought some yummy christmas cupcakes to go with the coffee/tea in the evening.
I normally wear a more appropriate christmas outfit, but we had been away from home all day, and well..to be honest...the Tshirt im wearing is pretty christmassy to -me-.

This is actually the way I went to work the day before, to work in the evienng, but hey, I forgot to make pics and I didnt look that different, only had ponytails instead of the loose hair. :P

On the first day of christmas, I wore a green/black corset dress. It was a bit too wide below the buste, but I thought that might come in handy with the whole christmas dinner and such, so I decided against taking it in.
I also wore black knitted legging, black knitted bolero, black ankleboots, my Poison Ivy Alchemy necklace and a hairpiece that once was a hairband.

Sid was dressed in a silvergrey satinshirt and tuxedopants. He later on changed into a thsirt when we were preparing dinner. I bought Merlijn a new shirt and vest and the hat that looks adorable on him :)

For my makeup, I used a combnation of Evil Shades, Gosh, Mac and Barry M.

Unfortunately, the flsh of my cam reduced the sparkle and the depth of the colour. Sorry, didn't have a lot of times to make pics.

With just a bit of Wild Rose by Catrice on my cheeks, and Chanel's Fatale on my lips.

On the second day of christmas, we were running a bit late, so I forgot to make pics again. I made these makeup pics late at night, after we got home again, to give a little impression of what the makeup looked like.

I mostly used Sugarpill, Gosh, MAC and Evil Shades for this one.

Even though I forgot to make pics, Paula, one of my lexlings, took some pics of us. Yeay! I don't really have a good outfit pic though. I wore black knitted legging and the same shoes as the day before. I wore a tight black skirt with a pattern on it, a black tight bodystocking, and a beautifull black top(the one I bought from my bday money ).

Review: Mink Eyelash Extensions

I've had short straight blonde eyelashes for all of my life. After using black mascara for lots and lots of years, the bottoms ended up black, but the tips are still blonde. My lashes don't really curl, so from a distance, you don't really notice my lashes at all. Even with mascara and an eyelashcurler, my lashes tend to get straight and pointing down again. So with my more extreme/colourfull EOTD's it always looks a bit unfinished to me. That's why I tend to use fake lashes at parties or events.

Lately Ive been seeing blogs and clips about people having eyelash extenions. Ofcourse, that really got my attention, and after having read a lot about them, and having a bit of extra money this month, I decided to get them myself. Problem was, I couldn't find anyone who did the eyelashextensions, anywhere near me. After searching for quite some time and emailing some beautysalons, I finally found one who could help me.

Last saturday, I had an appointment at 9:30 in the morning at Coco Beauty in Alkmaar.
They didn't have a choice in length or curl, like other salons I read about, but she showed me the mink lashes an they didn't look that long to me (boy was I wrong! hahah). She also showed me cheaper and darker ones, but they just didn't feel that good to me. Much sturdier and not as soft as the mink ones. She also stated that these were fox hairs, which to me sounded like they didn't want people to know ít's acually mink......or they didn't know what a mink was...could be both ;)

The procedure is simple in itself, but it takes a lot of time and concentration, and you have to be handy with both of your hands.
At first, she put tape over my bottom lashes, to make sure nothing stuck together and nothing got stuck on the bottom lashes.

Then she took two tweezers and use one to seperate my lashes and use the other one to put one mink hair to one of my own lashes.

The hairs are all in a little box, and are in different lengths like your own lashes, so it will look more natural. They are dipped in a special glue/rubber to make them stick to your lashes.

Right after I opened my eyes. It felt really weird, not because of the lashes, but because the skin below my eyes felt tight. That's because the tape had been there for quite a while.

First time with makeup on. I felt like I had puppet eyes, the lashes were so long!
Right after I came out of the salon(without any makeup on) I came across a stranger who told me I looked beautifull. Lashes really change your whole appareance!

You can't really tell that they are fake, if you look at the bottom.

I also bought a special makeup remover at the salon, because I can't use any remover on an oil base with these extensions. I lost 2 lashes on one eye, the first time I cleaned them, but none since.

I'm still not really sure how I feel about them. I love the way it looks when I don't have any makeup on, and you can still see lashes. It also looks really great with makeup. I don't use any mascara now either. I could, if i wanted to, but it's not needed anymore.
But it also has downsides.
You have to clean them with a special remover and don't rub your eyes. Which sometimes is needed with certain eyeliner or pigments. The remover I bought, is quite good though, it just takes more time.
I also have to comb them after using remover, because they tend to stick together like real lashes, and then you get spiderleg lashes. Same thing in the morning, when you sleep, your lashes get all tangled up, so in the morning you have to untangle them again. I use an old empty mascara roller for now, which works perfectly.

And I think they are a bit too long, I have to watch myself when I apply makeup, so I won't end up with pink lashes or something. If they had different lenths, I probably would have gone for shorter ones. Also, the hairs are mink, and I'm not totally sure if they are 'harvested' by just brushing the animals (like people say), and where/how they keep those animals. I'm an animal lover (but a meat eater, deal with it), and I wouldn't want an animal to get hurt, just so I could get longer/more lashes.

Also, these extensions are attched to your own lashes, so if you don't have a lot of lashes, don't expect a lot of volume when you get long extensions. I also would have loved more shorter ones on the inner eye corner for an even more natural look. The shorter ones on my other eyes inner corner tend to point a bit downward like my own aswell, and that way you can't really see them.

And ofcourse, the money.....they prefer to fill up the missing lashes that fall out naturally every three weeks orso, which can cost you about 50 euro. Which is a LOT of money.

This set cost me 100 euro excl the remover, and it took her 1,5 hours. I also got to pick a little present from a bowl filled with stuff, because it was christmas. Sidney picked out a beautifull OPI mini polish for me.

All in all it was a nice experience, never having been to a beautysalon before. But I'm not sure yet if I will keep them. Sometimes I think Yes! because they look so great, and my makeup looks more finished. And other times, they look too fake and long to me, even though noone has noticed they are fake at all. It's also quite a lot of money to keep them looking good, which is a big downside. I'll probably see how long it takes to seriously need a refill, and how that will look, and if I think it's really worth it by then.

Special Birthday Present

Last friday, the 23rd, it was my dads birthday. Because I couldn't go to his birthday because of work and holidays, I wanted to give him something special.

After a loooooooong search, I came across this site: Your Surprise
It's an awesome site, that sells all kinds of products that you can personalize for the receiver, and it has a 24 hour service!

I decided to personalize two big bottles of special beers for my dad.
Then I personalised the label with a picture of my dad on his 35th weddinganniversary. Lastly, I needed a name for the beers.....finally I came up with an awesome name, which is a pun with his name and his work:
BrigADier.

I was a little bummed that I didn't get to see his face when he received the package, but I called him and he was really happy with his present :)

Serious Request: This one's for Mama +Giveaway Winner

Every year, the chrsitmas feeling starts for me, when Serious Request had its kick off. There's nothing so freakily addictive, then listening to or watching Serious Request.
Serious Request has been raising money for the 'silent disasters' around the world.
I've been follwing them for years, and trying to do my little bit aswell.

Three DJ's from 3fm will be sitting in a Glass House from dec 18th untill dec 24th, without any food. They get speciallymade smoothies and stuff, but they will not have any food or, for the ones who smoke, no smokes either.
All the while, they are filmed and broadcasted live on radio and tv, and people will be showing up, looking at them and bringing money.

This year it's about This one's for Mama', which is for the mothers around the world who are on ther own because of war and conflicts. Because of violence, they sometimes loose their husbands, loose their house, have to flee their homes, or lost their harvests. Because of this, they can tend up without any food, water or healthcare. The Red Cross helps them with their primary needs: shelter, food, water, healthcare, soap, etc. They also help them with getting an income and finding their relatives.

A mother is the silent force of a family, but she can't make it on her own in a war. And her children won't make it without her. Help a mother, save a family.

As usual, their are lots of ways to donate money. You can order at their webshop, bid on lots of unique items,
request a song, collect sodabottles for the deposit, or participate in lots of other activities. You can even organize you're own unique way of raising money for them.

Here are some other things you can do, to donate money:
-Attiude Holland, only 1 euro, every euro counts
-order a survivalkit for the families, a week of food is only 15 euros, a month 55 euros. Foof for a baby 25 euros. Water for just 5 euros, or for 800 euro, 50 families will have their own watersource. Temporary shelter for only 10 euros and so on and on.
-buy awesome thsirts for 15 or 20 euros
-buy a serious request keychain for only 3 euros
and the list goes on and on....

I bought another shirt this year, and a keychain, so thats another 23 euro, going to the Mothers in need.

I love watching the DJ's in their Glass House, going totally crazy on certain songs, like 'hello'last year, which is still a song for me with great memories because of it. This year's 'Bouncer' is already afavourite of mine, when before SR11 I didn't even like it, hehehe.
It's so awesome to see people everyday, who bring their own money to help others, even when said people dont have a lot themselves. Especially little kids who raised money or bring their own allowance is really inspiring to see.
Just remember, that even 1 euro can make a difference, because everytime 5 people will donate just ONE euro, a whole family will have water, or for just ONE euro, TWO people can be vaccinated against serious diseases.

Freya the kitten today ( & Loki's torture)

Or well...actually the day before yesterday...but you know what I mean :P.

Freya is about 7,5 months old now, her belly healed perfectly..no more weird bump on it, and the incision looks like it was never there. Took some time to get the scab off the last part where she tore her stitches near the end, but it all worked out and looks perfect now.

This is in ther fortress, a little hang thiny at the bottom. She loves sleeping curled up or just lounging in there.
She's getting quite big now. We sometimes still think she looks like a small kitten, untill we see her next to one of the other two, and remember those two are pretty huge.
I wonder how big she'll get...

Yup, the bitch is back! hahaha, Freya always looks very...annoyed..

Ofcourse you can't take pics of one cat, without the other ones noticing and wanting to claim the attention.

Apparantly, with a shirt on, you can't walk...or do anything a normal cat does...

Review: Born Pretty Store's Christmas Nail Art

At the beginning of this month, I was asked if I wanted to review something for Born Pretty Store. I chose the Christmas Nail Art Stickers, which are actually water decals, because I thought it would be fun to try out for the upcoming holidays.

I got 2 different kinds and this is a blog about one of those sets:

Products I used for this mani:

(You need to place the stickers in the water, before you can remove the back of them. After theat you can put them straight onto your nails)

I painted every other nail with China Glaze's Cheers to You, the other remaining nails, I painted with China Glaze's Midnight Kiss. I did not use the flash on my cam, because these nailpolishes tend to reflect and that way you can't see the nailart. Which would take away the point, lol

Then I took the stickers, and cut each one that I wanted to use, out with scissors. I placed it in water, so I could get the sticker of the paper. Then I placed the sticker on the nail, and finally put a clear top coat over it.

The whole process is supereasy and I have to say, it looks really good. Especially if you like nail art, but can't really paint pretty pictures that small yourself, this is the solution for you! Or if you have a lazy day and want a quick intersting looking mani. Or if you're like me and want symmetrical hands, and get annoyed when you cant paint aswell with yout lefthand as with your righthdn ;)

I haven't used water decals before, and I really want to get myself more, they are so detailed!

EOTD: I've got the Sugarpill Blues

I've said it before, when I don't feel good, I tend to compensate that sometimes with extra colourfull makeup and/or clothing. Since I've been sneezing and coughing since fridaynight, I kinda needed a pick me up on sunday. It didn't really work though, but at least I got to ignore my sickness untill the stocktake last wednesday. After that, I finally allowed myself to fall apart. So I'm sick at home now. It's a severe cold, or might be turning into a flu. Let's hope not! Anyway, out stocktake was excellent, so it was all worth it!

On with the makeup goodness!

This makeup was inspired by the dress I was wearing, which was a tich dark blue one with a black/turquoise leopard print. If I wasn't sneezing half the way through this EOTD, I might have done some false lashes and some leopardprint on the eyes...but oh well. I still like the outcome!

SPARKLIES!

On my moving eyelid, I applied Lumi. Lumi is such an awesome eyeshadow, it's white, with a blue glow, and changes when it catches the light.
In and above the crease, I applied Royal Sugar. This is an amazing blue with awesome sparkles. It's also one of the few Sugarpill eyeshadows I have a bit of trouble with. It doesn't blend quite as easily and tends to be wiped off, and loose the sparkle. Still, I think it looked pretty good.

Above my lashes, I applied a thin line of black eyeliner, because I don't have a lot of lashes, this still gives that illusion of them a bit.
Below my eyes, I applied some Gosh velvet touh eyeliner and on top of it I applied Sugarpills Starling. I really love this turquoise/blue and I think it combines great with Lumi.

On the LOTD pics, I only had some Gosh Soft n shine Scarlet on my lips. When you've been sneezing your ass off, you tend to get a sensitive skin. So I haven't applied any blush or concealer or anything.

I wore black knitted leggings, black overknee highheeled boots, the leopardprint dress, and a black knitted long cardigan. Also turquoise/silver feather earrings, which matched the dress close enough.

I think I sneezed in between these two, hahaha. I look like crap!

I dont use a lot of blue, but this is definately one of my favourite EOTDs with so much blue. :)

EOTD: Sweet 50s look turned glam

Another look with the Oh So Special palette? Yes! This is such a great palette that I reach for it a lot. Especially when I want to do a simple eyelook.

This look was the one I did, when I got to meet Wendy for the first time. We had a great time!

I used a very light colour on the moving eyelid, something I never really did before. Then I added a darker colour above the crease and some extra dark into the crease.

It's a really simple look, but it gives just enough colour to give it that bit extra to your face.

Then I added a winged eyeliner and some black eyeliner below the eye. Together with the headband with the polkadots and the pink lipstick, it really gave me that 50's vibe.

It was a bit TOO sweet for my taste though, and I didn't really like the colour of the lipstick with the colours I used on my eyes.

What to do??

Change the lipstick ofcourse!

Yeah, bold red lips is much more my thing. The gold glitter on this one makes it extra special. This one if from the Limited Edition collection by Catrice thats in stores right now.

EOTD: Autumn with Sugarpill and Sleek

A few weeks ago, I was really in an autumn mood: watching the leaves on the trees changing colour, I decided to make a look with THE autumn colours: Green, Brown and Orange.

The orange was a bit more tomed down in real life, I guess the flash made it superbright. Oops

I used Sugarpills Junebug over the moving eyelid. This is a gorgeous darker green with lots of sparkle.

Then I applied Sugarpills Flamepoint, a really bright orange, above the crease towards my eyebrows, blending it out.
Then I applied Sleeks Dirty, into the creasde and blended it with Flamepoint. Dirty is a brownish colour, which made a really nice colour blended with the orange.

Then I grabbed a gelliner by Essence, which turned out to be green. At first I wanted to use a brown one, but I guess I wasn't that awake yet. hahaha. Still, I thnk the green looks good aswell.

Below the eyes I applied Gosh' Truely Brown eyeliner.

I really liked this colour combo, it made my eyes POP! :)

I've just been so busy, that I just didn't have the time and energy to blog.
This month, it's always really busy in our store, with 3 different flyers following one after another, season sale, and every day new discounts roll out of our registry and have to be counted and priced.
On top of that, this month, the busiest of the year, we have t do a stockcount. Which means we have to count every single thing in our store and our stock. That's a lot of work, especially if you do this when the store is open and also on the first day when the christmasflyer is out. Not the best idea there ever was...I'm already dreading the day...
Anyhow, this takes a lot of preparation. Every single thing needs to have the right scannumber, and those can get lost a lot. And then you have to find the same item in the same size and same colour, or the number won't be the same. OR you have to call other stores to see if they have the item and can give you the number for it. Also everything has to be organized into countable sizes of 40 to 50 items. Otherwise, you'll have to recount a lot, which takes up wayyyy to much time.
Next week we will be counting the entire store...not just ours, but a second one aswell. So...busy busy busy.

On top of that...last tuesdaynight.....that annoying molar I wrote about earlier, had another boo boo. *sigh*
I had been dreading that for 2,5 weeks, and was not looking forward to dec 22th when they would slim it down so they could make the crown for it. I was certain that it would break along the way somewhere between christmas and new year..also..I wouldn't be able to eat everything I wanted. I didn't even make it that far, because on tuesday, it broke..again...

I got to go to the dentist the day after, thankfully. So yesterday, I went to my dentist and at first she didn't see it. It was a tear in the side of my molar with a hole at the bottom, but it was located exactly in the middle of my molar, and because molars aren't entirely smooth, it kinda looked like a shadow. Untill you moved something along it...like for example..my tongue..it was really really sharp. The little gap, was a piece of the fake corner and a piece of my molar missing.
So the dentist wasn't too happy about the fact that her cut&paste fix hadnt worked out for me, so she decided to take on an entirely different approach. She took out the complete cut&paste she did previously AND the entire filling. Then she worked on my molar for over half an hour...don't ask me how many tools she used, because there were a LOT. I had to bite on something a couple of times, to make sure my molárs fitted into eachother, which took quite some work. She did an excellent job, and now, you cant even tell there ever was a filling, its just a pretty white little molar now. Seems a bit smaller though, but that's ofcourse because that one broken corner is a bit smaller now. I can eat anything I want now, without having to worry another breakinline or a piece coming off. This stuff is practically unbreakable, according to her. I'm REALLY happy about that. She's also going to give me a discount, because the previous work was supposed to have worked for me, and she didnt want me to have to pay twice for the same problem: awesome!

I went out the door feeling very much relieved and also..with a super headache of all the metal and clamps and stuff that had been in and around my molar and jaw and mouth. Yeah, she used some very weird contraptions on me..doesnt that sound kinky? ;)
I decided to chek the Kruidvat for the new Essence LE circus, and YEAY, got to treat myself on some of the products of that collection...and some Ferrero chcocolates! ;)'

Weird fact: my motherinlaw had to go in for an emergency visit aswell, at the same dentist..she was there at 3 and I came in 40 mins later. We totally missed eachother, but found out at dinner that we were both there.

I'll try and update more again, but if I'm not, please know that I do what I can!

Yesterday, I came home and this little package was waiting for me on the doormat. I had no idea what it could be, since I hand't ordered anything.

Inside, I found this letter from Rimmel, telling me I had won a Kate moss lipstick with a Facebook contest.

I hadn't expected it at all, so this was a really nice surprise! The lipstick I've gotten is number 10, which is a real fire truck red. Something that fits me perfectly.

I'm really interested to see how this one applies and stays on my lips. If I remember correctly, they also have a purple one in the collection....and I might go and buy that one if this one is as good as I've been reading online :)

EOTD: Sparkled Tiara

This sparkly EOTD, was the one I had for the Breaking Dawn movie. I thought it was appropriate to apply lots of sparkle, hahaha.

On my moving eyelid, I applied Tiara, the wonderfull silver colour by Sugarpill. Tiara ia incredible gorgeous by itself, but for more sparkle, I added NYX holographic glitters all over it.

Above the crease, I applied Magpie. Magpie is another of my Favourite colours by Sugarpill. It's a deep dark blue with all kinds of sparkle in it.
Into the crease, I applied some more Magpie, over a bit of Pixie Epoxy.
Below the eyes, I applied Gosh velvet touch eyeliner Pretty Petrol, and added some Magpie on top of it.

As a finishing touch, I added the Born pretty store lashes I reviewed in yesterdays post.
I don't know why my cam doesnt show all the amazing sparkle, but this is as good as it gets, otherwise it just shows a blurry pic with little coloured orbs all over my eyes, looking like a bad pixelpic. Hahahah.

Review: Born Pretty Store, Handmade Lashes

I while ago, I was contacted again by Born Pretty Store, if I wanted to try out some products again. I was really interested in the handmade lashes, so I searched through the shop to find the ones I liked most.

I requested the box with 10 sets of Handmade Artificial False Eyelashes #218. These are pretty natural looking, with a complete see through band. Except ofcourse for the little parts where the lashes are attached.
This box costs 8,54 dollar, which is about 6,45 euros. Thats a bargain for 10 sets of lashes!

As you can tell from the pictures of my eyes that are posted all over the blog, I am not gifted with a lot of lashes. I tend to use darker colours near my lashes, just to have the effect of something there. When I apply fake lashes, that have a black strip, I always use black eyeliner to make sure the overlap of the fake lashes and the real lashes is less noticable. But for some looks, I don't want to use eyeliner, and I didn't have any lashes with a see through band.

The lashes that I received are handmade, and look and feel much more natural than cheaper ones. Those usually feel a bit chunky, unbendable and plastic. Not always comfortable, but not always as bad as it sounds either. The strip that they are attached to, is see through, and has longer parts at the side, which keeps them in their box. Don't forget to cut these off, before you use them!

I also always make them a bit rounder by taking them between my two hands and moving those up and down, like with a slinky(those things that you can let rund down the stairs in pretty rainbowcolours). This way, the lashes are less straight, and will stick better to your eyes. If you don't, the sides might come off the corners of your eyes, because it wants to be in it's original form, which is pretty straight.

For this EOTD, I applied no eyeliner, and applied the lashes, with some Eyelure lashglue. Which is by the way perfect lashglue to use if you want to re-use your lashes.

The lashes are really long and look pretty natural next to my own lashes. The strips are a bit long, which is why they get pretty close to my inner eye corner. I'm not a big fan of cutting lashes shorter, because you tend to loose the natural shaping. These lashes have shorter lashes on the inner eyecorner, which makes them more natural looking. I might cut them a bit on the outer corner next time I use them, but for now, I just wanted to see how they looked in their full glory.

With a closeup, you can tell by the bit of 'white' of the lashband that's refelected by the flash, that I'm wearing falsies, but if you looked at my face from a normal distance, it wasn't really noticable.

The lashes felt pretty good on my eyes, not too heavy or anything. I like the way they can really finish a look. I always get a bit annoyed at the tiny bit of lashes that I naturally have, which sometimes can make a look seem a bit off or unfinished. These lashes really make the difference if you ask me.

I'm really glad with these and can recommend them to anyone! The EOTD of this pics will be posted tomorrow by the way :)

NOTD: True Love , Essence LE

At first, when I saw swatches online from the new Limited Edition by Essence: Vampires Love, I wasn't too excited about the nailpolishes. All for except one: Old Gold Buffy. Swatches of that one, will follow soon.
I remember seeing the swatch of True Love and thinking it was a bit too pink for my taste, nothing too special to add to my stash.
Untill I saw it in reallife at the store....

This is a prefect combo of winered with some darkpurple. And it really fits the collection's name, this is a perfect polish for the vamps out there to wear.

The polish applied easily enough, This is one thin coat and a thicker second coat, without a topcoat.

I love the way the polish seems to shift from winered to darkpurple and everything in between. I'm really glad that I looked at it in the store and brought it home with me.
Most stores will probably have a sold out collection by now, but if you're into this kind of colour and can still get it somwhere, I recommend that you do! It really is a great addition to your stash :)

EOTD & LOTD: Wicked Weekender

Do you ever wake up and just 'feel' like a certain colour? Or just get this totally random colourcombo stuck into your head, and it won't go away untill you've tried it out with makeup?
Well, welcome to my life....

Since I'm not a morningperson, I tend to do a simple makeup when I have to work. But, I work most fridaynights, and because on those days I've gotten the chance to waken before that time, I sometimes give in to my mood to go all out. Last friday was such a day.
I was totally in the mood for some purple, so I decided to grab some special ones from my stash. I also grabbed some glitter, just because I could.

The fun part is, that even though it looks like I used a lot of different colours, I only used 2 eyeshadows and 1 glitter!

On my moving eyelid, I applied Sugarpill's Weekender.
Weekender is an incredible purple, I think it's THE purple for me. You have to see it in all it's glory to understand what I'm saying, it has such a beautifull shimmer, it's amazing!

Above the crease, I applied Fyrinnae's Wicked.
Wicked is one of those incredible colourchanging eyeshadows. It's a purple but it can shift to a beautifull blue. I just love duochromes, because you can do so many fun things with them.

I applied some Pixie Epoxy on my inner eye corner and a little above the crease. On the inner eye corner, I applied NYX purple glitters for extra sparkle.
Above the crease, I applied some more Wicked. Because of the Pixie Epoxy, Wicked now becomes this gorgeous blue, on top of it's own purple.
I still have to figure out the 'right' way yo use Pixie Epoxy, but I like the effect!

I used the purple gelliner by Essence, which I can't find right now, so I'm not sure about the name. Oops!
Below the eyes, I applied Some Gosh eyeliner Funky Violet, and applied some more Weekender over it.

I applied some Light Burgundy by Catrice to my cheeks and some Essence (LE) Bloody Mary on my lips. No idea why it looks like a berry on the pics, it truley was a purple.

That day, I also put my hair up in a ponytail. I like the effect the red gives, that filters through the black locks.

EOTD: Velvet Vampire on Fyre & Ice

Another simple EOTD with just two Fyrinnae eyeshadows.

On my moving eyelid I applied Velvet Vampire, which is a red, but a shade more orange/pink/ than real red, which makes it much more wearable.

No idea why my camera always makes it look like the colours have a line between them, they really were blended prettily.

Anyway, on the outer V, I applied Fyre & Ice. This is a beautifull black with tiny red glitters in it.

Not the best week of my life...

Remember that burglary I blogged about..turns out its the house right NEXT to ours! Okay, there's this little piece of road between us, but that's way to ffing close for my taste!

Since my last blogpost, things havent been looking up.....

Yes, we did go to Breaking Dawn, and we had fun AND we saw the Volturiscene after the movie, when almost everyone else already dissappeared out of the theater. But on my way to the bus, the zipper of my bag broke off. Which is btw my FAVOURITE bag. (ill take it to the shoemaker though, he always fixes my stuff happily and cheap!)
Then, while waiting with 20+ other people, the bus just drove by...without stopping. And that one comes just once per hour on saturdaynights. *sigh*.
Luckely for us, we can take a diff busline so we went to a diff busstop and took that one, but still..such an annoyance. (it made me think back on that time we went to see Twilight, and the key to the lock of our bikes put together broke off...while it was snowing...lol)

Then we got a call that my fatherinlaw had a pretty bad flu, so we decided on staying home on sunday. No need to get sick ourselves.

On monday I cut myself in the finger with a knife...deeply..something i NEVER do. So I was annoyed. Then during that day and the next, lots of other stuff happened with my fingers that were painfull. Lots of cursing and sighing.

Then, when we got our delivery at work, I took our papers from the guy(which looked 16 orso, which he was obviously not, because you cant drive untill 18 here, but still.). And then I needed the papers from our delivery, which is in the containers. The driver KNOWS that, and SAW me. So what did that idiot do? When I was grabbing those extra papers, he started going down with the loading platform,...you know..while I was standing right there. And the thing came down on my foot, and if I didnt yelled at him, It would prolly have been BROKEN. Do you know what the guy did? NOTHING. no apology, not a single word.
So my foot hurt pretty good all day, prolly shouldnt have been standing and walking on it all day either.
When I got home it was pretty swoolen and walking wasnt much in the picture anymore.

And then...one of our black glass plates fell on the floor and broke down into a freaking MILLION little pieces...I had never seen anything like that. The whole floor was covered with tiny fragments of glass....so dinner was ruined aswell. Because I really dislike glass splinters on my pizza.

Then I got a mail where they were late with sids new medicines(he had to start with them immediately), and on top of that a mail that they would be delivered even later.

Needless to say, I stayed in bed for a loooooong while today. I feel like hiding in a corner and just wait till this week/month/whatever is over.

On the bright side, the bump on Freyas belly seems to be getting smaller. So thats really good news, lets hope its keep geting smaller the next few days.
Also I got to move my dentist appointment for that 450 euro job, so the bill could be mailed for THIS year, which means I can still get stuff done to my teeth next yr.

Do you ever have these episodes where just everything seems to be going wrong? Sid and I sem to really have episodes of them, and we are almost accustomed to them and react to them with ''oh boy, its one of those weeks again'. Still, they arent a lot of fun, and I'll be really happy when this stuff is over.

Is it pouring again?

So....theres been stuff going on again in our lives.

As most of you will know, Freya has been sterilized last week and yesterday the sticthes were to come out. We had some little scares in the meantime, because on monday, she had this weird bump all of a sudden beneath her stitches. Like she swallowed an egg. We called the vet, and they told us that could happen, nothing to worry. Then, we got home on tuesdaynight and i found a bit of blood on her belly, and some stitches in her fur. The end of the stitches were a bit open aswell. Called the vet in the morning and we decided to just wait for thursdaymorning to take them all out.
So There I was at work on wednesday, a bit worried that Freya might have found a way to get to her stitches, and worrying she might find a way to take off her cone of shame ...again. Then there was this disturbance in the force of cardpayment, nationwide, so that was a lot of 'fun'at work aswell.
And when I had a little break and ate something...a corner of my molar suddenly broke off.
What a FUN day! So I called my dentist and I had an appointment for the next day.

On thursday, I went to the vet, and freya's stitches were removed. BUT they were a bit worried about the bump. They thought it might be a 'navelbreuk' or that she had some weird reaction tot the (3 layers of) stitches. So now we have to see what happens with the bump the next 4 weekes, otherwise we have to go back(and prolly need another operation). Her temp was fine though and she looked good for the rest of it. Hopefully the bump will become a bit smaller and less hard, and it will just be some reaction. They also told me she was a very gorgeous cat :)

So today is friday, and I went to the dentist yesterday. They reconstructed the corner, which took less then 10 mins. And then came the bad news. Since I have small molars, and really large fillings in them, there's not much molar left surrounding the filling. My dentist found a breakline throughout the whole molar including the filling. She really recommended that I would decided on a crown. (not sure of thats what its called in english though). Anyway, the crown is a sort of cap that will keep the molar together. Ofcourse I dont want to loose a molar at the young age of 30, so I said, ofcourse! well...the costs are 450 euro! yeah, thats right! FOUR HUNDRED and FIFTY euro!
Now, I have a wonderfull insurance, BUT they are doing a reorganisation and getting a diff name and diff coverage. So now, im thinking it might not be insured the way I always was. I'll have to call them today, to found out. *sigh*

And to top that, I found a letter on my doormat today from the police, saying that there was a burglary in our neighbourhood and they wanted to see if there were any witnesses.

FUN FUN FUN!

Oh well, at least I found one of the last snowboots at action for only 9,99 euros, and we are going to see Breaking Dawn soon. Let's just hope the public transport doesnt break down or anything. *sigh*

NOTD: Golden Rose Holographic Color no. 120

This is a holographic polish By Golden Rose. No. 120 is a very nice pink, with lots of shimmer.

The flash makes it a bit brighter than it really is, but in daylight (without sun) it's more toned down. So the reallife colour is somwhere in between:

daylight (no sun)

indoors (with flash)

It's a nice and sparkly polish, it applied really easy and it doesn't chip fast either. It is holographic, but not in the rainbows-on-you-nails-way. All in all a really nice polish, and there are a lot of colours to choose from in this holographic range.

EOTD: Zombie Drakon with Evil Shades

This is a simple EOTD with 2 Evil Shades eyeshadows, but the eyeshadows in itself are so pretty, that it doesn';t look as simple. Awesome!

I applied Drakon on my moving eyelid. DRakon is such a beautifull, colourchanging, miraculous colour. I can't stop watching it, moving my face from side to side.

In and above the crease I applied Zombie, which is a dark winred. I thought of this colour after I dyed my hair, and thought it would be fun to use it in a first EOTD with this hair.

With Zombie next to Drakon, the golden colour tends to change to a bit of red as the light hits it. I can;t get enough of this colour.

I used Essence Black gelliner next to my lasline and created a wing at the end.

I love the way it sparkles and changes with the light :)

Below the eyes I used Gosh velvet touch eyeliner Black Ink.

Review: Ici Paris Xl, Mini Perfume Sprayer

I've had a mini perfume spayer by Ici before, but you had to spray the perfume into it, and that way, you waste a lot of product. Since I'm a big fan of (expensive) perfumes, I think that's not a very smart idea. Still, that sprayer was 3,95 and was for that price, filled with your fav perfume on the spot. Now that one is empty, I decided I wanted one that wouldn't waste as much product and found this one:

It's 9,99 euro if I remember correctly and I think there were a silver and a pink one aswell. It has a small opening at the bottom that works like the top of a sprayer on a perfume bottle. It won't open, unless you press it with a perfume sprayer, so it won't leak either.

It has an opening on the side, so you can see how much product is left in it.

I used my Cartier Delices EDT, to fill the mini sprayer. It's so handy to have an EDT in your purse, especially if you're not a morningperson and tend to forget to spray on something when you leave the house.

Filling the sprayer is pretty easy. You just pull the spraycap off the bottle and then put the bottom of the sparyer on top of the little tube on your perfume bottle. All you have to do than is press it down repeatedly as if you's spray on some perfume. This way it'll fill up nice and easy.

There is almost no waste, just a tiny bit of wetness between the two bottles, and probably only because this was the first tme for me doing this. Afterwards, you don't need to do anything to the sprayer, it closes up by itself, and you only need to put the spraycap back on your perfume bottle.

I think this is a great product, without any waste of perfume and it's not that expensive either, because you can use it over and over again. I'm really glad I bought it.

A Change of Hair

I've dyed my hair black since 2002, and have been thinking about dark red ever since. I even had a couple of dark red locks in there at first. But having to decolour my hair was just too much trouble, and also, knowing my hair, I didn't want to go bald. I also thought red might be too harsh for my skintone.

I'm a natural blonde(middle, ash, dark, etc all in one), and apparantly, when you dye my blonde hair black, it gives out a lot of red pigment. Which is why the ends of my hair looks like this:

It looks kinda brownred, but when the sun hits it, it becomes an honest red. weird huh, my hair does this all by itself. I only dye my roots every month and maybe every 6 months or more I dye the ends black again. Just to kake sure my hair doesnt turn into a ropey kind of structure.

When I saw a picture of Blix her hair on her blog, I felt that it was a great possibility for me to change my hair a bit. I could just dye my roots a different colour!

I got a bit scared when the dye was in my hair, because it became BRIGHT ORANGE, and I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO!, but when it started drying, it got darker and darker red.

After washing out the dye, my hair looked really bright under the light in the bathroom. In the living room however, it looked like this:

Which isn't that weird, because the dye was called middle brown red. The hairdresser and me decided on that one, because we didnt know how bright it might become on my lighter roots. And we don't really use bright lights in the livingroom. (they give me headaches.)

But...this is how it looks in daylight(without sun):

I know it's not much yet, but I really needed to dye my roots, because my lighter hair, makes it look like I have bald spots when I put my hair up, because it's so close to my scalp colour.
I think it'll look really nice, when Ive dyed my roots again next month.

I've tried to make pics, but the red just didn't show because of my flash, so this is all I was able to conjure for you right now:

It's not exactly the reallife colour, but you can see where it it in this pic at least.
So what do you guys think? Keep going with this next month, or go back to black?

Freya haz a sad & Change of hair

Last wednesday, Freya had an operation. She was to be sterilized, so we were both a bit nervous. I had to get up at 6:15 to make sure she was at the vet in time.
I got to pick her up around 15:00, so it was a looooong wait.

She's doing really good, but she's still really drowsy and sleepy. She also gets these shivers, so I put her inside a blanket all day. But she's Freya so she wants to wander around..and gets cold again. *sigh*

She sleeps on our bed in a little nest of blankets, between sid and me, that way we can watch her if something goes wrong.
The wound looks good, and hopefully our two other cats will stay away from it. Next thursday the stitches will be taken out.

On a diff note, I have been wanting to do something diff with my hair for quite a while, but I was in doubt for sooooo long. Yesterday, we dyed my roots a different colour. I was anxious at first, because the dye looked like a peack flavoured yoghurt, and on my hair it turned flaming orange! But when it dried it turned darker and darker red.
I'll post pics later on how it turned out, but its not really that noticable under normal lighting, because its a brownred. Under brightlighting though, its VERY darkred.

Don't mind my lack of sleep face :P My hair looks NOTHING like this now, it's not as big a change as I thought. More on that later!

I really think this is a shame, everytime you try to ask people to really -DO- something for a giveaway (not just clicking a like button), people just dont want to bother. EOTD: Tyr's Dark Fantasy

Another EOTD with just two Fyrinnae pigments: Tyr and Dark Fantasy.

I applied Tyr over three quarters of the moving eyelid. Tyr is a very beautifull mossy green with lots of golden sparkle.

On the outer V, I applied Dark Fantasy. This is another Arcane Magic eyeshadow. It's a beautifull darker forsetgreen, with a lighter green sparkle.

I applied the same two pigmets below the eyes, for more sparkle.
I love greens, and these are definately a favourite of mine!

NOTD: Hema Diamond Nailpolish no. 12

This is a beautifull Hema nailpolish, that caught my eye in the store.

This is a lovely rosey lilac polish with a blue shift. But wait, that's not all!
It also has tiny golden flecks/shimmer in it! Unfortunately, I couldn't get those on cam, but trust me they are there, and visible too!

The flash brings out the blue shift, but above you can see the colour change a bit.

It applied easily enough, dries pretty fast aswell. I was pretty surprised by this one. It's not just any plain polish.

EOTD: Meerkat's Sequined Master

This is an EOTD with 2 Fyrinnae pigments: Meerkat and Sequined Master.

I applied Meerkat over three quarters of the moving eyelid. Meerkat is a wonderfull lilacpurple with golden shimmer. This makes the purple almost g to a gold, or a rosegold when the light hits it, beautifull!

On the outer V, I applied Sequined Master. This is one od the Arcena Magic eyeshadows. It's a purple with silver and blue shimmer. This makes the colour shift beautifully to a bluesilver shine when the light hits it.

Above the lashes, I applied some Gosh liquid eyeliner, Black Brasse, wich has some gold in it. For a change I did a chunkier wing that I usually do. Below the eyes I applied some Gosh eyeliner Metallic Brass, which also has some gold in it.

It's a very simple EOTD, but with the shifting colours of the lid, it looks like it's much more complicated, I love it!

EOTD & LOTD: Military Grey

This is an EOTD that was inspired by my new shoes and military jacket. There's also a LOTD :)

First I used Hema eyeshadowbase, and on top of that I applied Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Then I applied Evil Shades' Double Barrel on the moving eyelid.
On top of that, I applied some Pixie Epoxy, to make sure, the glitter of the pigments I wanted to use, would stay put.

Then I applied some Fyrinnae's Dinosaur Plushie on the inner eyecorner, and some Immortality on the outer V. I applied the same pigments over Gosh's Hypnotic Grey eyeliner, that I used below the eye.

Sparklies!!, unfortunately, the cam doesn't always capture all the sparkle, but this shows a little at least.

Then I played around with my curlingiron and while letting the curls cools off, I applied Chanel's Fatale on my lips. I also used some Inglot concealer on the sides of my nose, and some Sleek Rose Gold blush on my cheeks.

And this is the final outfit, I went to my father in laws birthday like this:

Extreme Look: Medusa Makeup with Sugarpill & Outfit Pics

This blog has been a draft for way too long, I just kept forgetting about it, oops.
This was the makeup that I used for Castlefest, including the costume I made.

Prepare for Picture Overload!

I made these EOTD pics when I got home, after a VERY rainy day. Calling it rain doesn't even begin to describe how the weather was eventually, it was more like a bucket of water thrown down, but constantly. Still, the makeup held pretty good!
The EOTD was not a nice as the try out makeup that I did before, but I'm not a morning person, and I only had so much time before I had to go to the trainstation.

Here are some pics of the outfit I made. I had so many ideas, and in the end too little time. I couldn't decided on what to do, so I ended up with a simple costume, inspired by a Greek peplos. I was not really happy with the outcome, but hey, it worked. At least, this time, I didn't have to take off half my costume when I needed to pee ;)

My costume consisted of:
A black wetlook snakeprint legging
A silvergrey snakeprint skirt, with 8 slits at the bottom (selfmade)
A black wetlook top that I pimped with silver clasps and a diff neckline (pimped)

The sleeves were wide, and were supposed to flow around my arm, but my handbag and the weather made sure, it didn't most of the time. Same with the neckline of the bolero, my handbag made it shift to the side a lot. I've made a similar skirt before, and the slits make it really flowey when you walk...unlees the fabric is all wet...and heavy. *sigh*

I also had a killermigraine, and the hair on my head weighed to much aswell. Still, it looked fab.

Usually I look on the internet for pictures that were made of me. This year, a LOT were made, but I just haven't had the time and patience to search for them. I did however receive some of some photographers... Not all of them unfortunately though. But almost all of them complimented me on my makeup and wanted to take some pics.
These were made on my way to the toilet, and I really needed to go..can you tell? HAHAHAHHAHA

I should have placed the snakes more in the front, instead of at the longer side of the hair. Now, you can barely tell that there are lots of them in my hair. Oh well, I guess this is my least fav costume, even though it was one of the more comfortable ones. I really do like the makeup though, and the hair.

The Results of A Day of Shopping

A week ago, Sid and I decided we had worked hard enough, and it was time to spend some money. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself to something, when you've had a busy month :)
It was a really fun day, especially because everything we wanted was in stock. SOmething which -never- happens when we go shopping.

I have been keeping my eyes out for laced up boots for several years now. I had victorian style boots, but they were kept upstairs, and for some reason, that thin fake leather, strats tearing all by itself after a few years. Which is truley a shame, but it could not be helped. Ive been searching for laced up boots ever since. I dont have the easiest feet to buy shoes for, so I still hadn't replaced those.

I spotted these boots in a flyer earlier, and was afraid they would be gone when I was going to the store. My size is the first to go out of stock usually, but this time only 37 (my size) en 40 remained!

Might had something to do with the fluffy lining of the boots, which made them a lot smaller than usual. Which is perfect for me because I have really small (width) feet. And they are warm 2! Also, they are water-repellent, which I saw on the lable when I was spraying them against spots and water and such. Oops.

A military style cardigan/jacket. They also had pale green, which I loved, but it did not look good on me. I bought this at the market for only 15 euros! It's lined ith satin and even has small shoulderpads.

I had been drewling over these ankleboots ever since I saw them in the shopwindow. They are made from black suede/velvet, have a tiny platfor n the front and 9 cm heels. The front has military style buttons and hoops instead of laces and it has a zipper on the side.
I adore the buttons and I though they were simple, but yet very different from other ankle boots that you see in store now. Love them!

We also found shoes for Sid, which is pretty hard. Sid has to have good quality shoes with enough room in the front for his toes, because of his diabetes. Most shoes that he likes, tend to have a too small front. When we saw these, he liked them a alot, and they fit too!. We are both really happy with these:

We also went to Ici Paris XL, to buy me some eyecream. I had used the one by Clinique before, as a sample, and really liked it. This package was the SAME price as the eyecream by itself. Score!

I also bought a perfumesampler that you can fill with your own perfume. I already had one, but you had to spray the perfume in it, which made you waste a lot of product. This one can be placed on top of you bottle and sort of drain it. I'll blog about it, when Ive figured it out myself ;)

At Inglot(we have one inside the V&D in Alkmaar), I bought 2 concealers. They are pretty creamy and are the best Ive tried so far. Ive bought two, because my facecolour shifts in color. I mostly bought these for the sides of my nose, which are redder than the rest of my face, which makes it look much paler than it really is.

At Kruidvat I bought this bodylotion, which is supposed to work so fast, it doesnt make your skin sticky. I hope it works, because I dislike sticky skin, which is why i never really use a bodylotion. I bought the Gosh cream primer to see if it'll make my concealer stay on longer. And because it was a 35% discount on makeup if you bought two products, I also bought a Gosh Eyeliner in Black Brass.

A while ago, we went to the dentist and they recommended us an electronic toothbrush instead of a normal one. They gave us a disocunt flyer for 25%, so that's why we bought this brush. Sid loves it, I have to get used to it, because Ive been brushing with a normal brush for so long, it takes a while to break the habit.

All in all, we bought some great stuff, and we are both really happy with our haul :)

As you can see, the layout of the blog has changed.
A lot of you wanted to have a wider screen for the blogposts and pics, and unfortunately my template did not have that ability.
Im now using a different and customized template, and this one is a lot wider.
Don't mind the header and such, I need time to make a good new one, for now, this is it. :P

If anyone has tips on how to create different pages for the 'about me', 'links', etc, so the layout will be even more spaceous and a lot less cluttered, please let me know. I'm not sure if I even have that option in Blogger.

At least now Ill be able to post bigger pics, which I think is a lot more fun. Even though the pics were always clickalbe to a bigger version, it's such a bore to do that with all the pics.

Anyway, feel free to leave me some tips or criticism, because it's not finished yet...I think.

EOTD & LOTD: Red Coral

This is a pretty simple EOTD with some lightpinks and coralreds. I really like the combination of these colours and I think it makes my eyecolour pop more.

I don't really know which products Ive used for this one anymore, but you can use any brand you like, the colours speak for themselves.

I used black eyeliner to add a bit of black to the look. Since I don't own a lot of lashes, this is a way to pretend I do. ;)

NOTD: Red Velvet

This is a NOTD with Color Club's Red Velvet. This is a beautifull black polish with gorgeous red glitter in it.

The pictures really don't do this polish justice, because the sparkles are amazing. The red really lights up from the black

This is a bit tamed down version of my christmas nails with Ruby Pumps over a black base.

I like the polish a lot, but as said above, I can make something similar with the polishes I already own.
This will find a new home, and I think I already know who Im going to giving it to. :)

EOTD & LOTD: Eighties Steampunk

When I did this look, I was going for a bit of steampunk feel, but I ended up with an 80's twist.

The colours were darker in reallife, but my flash just decided to annoy me..it does that sometimes...well..a lot of times actually :P.

I used the Oh So Special palette by Sleek for the browns, to make a simple EOTD. As I've said above, the browns were much deeper and darker.

Then I added the Coastel Scents gelliner 24K, which is a pretty gold colour, which in combintion with the brown gives that steampunk feel.

Below the eye, I applied Gosh's Metallic Brass, which is a brown with golden shimmer in it. But the camera really failed me on this look :( It was much prettier in real life.

Then I asked hubs which lipstick I should use, and he pointed to Sleek's Paint Polish Port. Which is a much brighter pink on the lips then it looks like in the tube.
I also wanted a vintage hairdo, but when I was trying to make a poofy front, it decided to stay in this hairstyle that I myself had when I was 10 orso.
All in all, it really gave me that 80's vibe, and I just went with it.

Normally I would have gone for some shade of red, so this bright pink with these colours, aswell as the light eyeliner, really felt weird to me.

I wore the brown/gold skirt that I posted last week with this vest, to create that steampunk look.

I also wore a black tight shirt with poofy shoulders, a black legging, and wedges. And my awesome Octopuss necklace that I bought on ebay for less than 2 dollars, score!

In the end, it turned into something totally different than I was going for, but when I went to the mall, I got a LOT of compliments on it. :)

EOTD: Simple one with new Catrice eyeshadows

This is a simple EOTD I did with 2 of the new Catrice mono eyeshadows:
C'mon Chameleon! and My first Copperware Party.

C'mon Chameleon is like a duochrome colour, it's a brown with a very pretty green shine over it when the light hits it. It reminds me of MAC's greenbrown, but is still different. (and a lot cheaper!) I also think this brown is much warmer and prettier than th brown of Greenbrown. But that's a simple matter of taste I guess.

I applied C'mon Chameleon over my whole moving eyelid, over Hema eyeshadowbase.

Justn look at that pretty green! It's hard to catch on cam, but it's very obvious in real life.

Above the crease, I lightly applied My first Copperware Party, which is a really softlooking copper that is close to a metalliclooking brown.

I added a bit more green to the EOTD, by appluing Essence gelliner I love NYC.
I think this is a very pretty combination, even though it's very simple and easy to accomplish.

I seriously recommend these two new colours by Catrice!

Fashion and Jewelry Haul

Most of you will know that I work in a clothing store, I've also been making clothing since 2002, so it's not really strange that my clothingcloset is pretty stuffed. I still have tops that I wore when I was 14 orso, but when I love something, I won't part with it. Especially not when it still fits. I do clean up from time to time, and sell some, or give it away, to make room for new stuff.

I also love sale, I find it really rewarding to score something in a sale for only a fraction of the original price. Having said that, I also have a discount at work and we have so many special sales and discounts, that it's sometimes hard NOT to buy something, hahaha.
Anyway, this is once again a haul from MONTHS (most was bought in the summer), so it's picture heavy!

A cute black pleated skirt, I love pleated skirts, one of my favs is the one I made years ago. And I keep making variations on it. :)

A cute tutu like skirt made from chiffon with polkadots. All layers are trimmed with lace.

Another lace skirt, yeah, I love skirts and I adore lace :)

A bit of a polit like fake leather coat. I bought this for the inbetween time, when its to cold without a jacket, but to warm for my fall/winter coats. We had this is a steampunk brown aswell, unfortunately brown does NOT look good on me.

A simple longshirt/dress with lace and a print with roses.

Dress with skullprint. I has a small black belt aswell, but I removed it to take in the waist. Normally I can't wear white, but the print makes it wearable for me.

A very Tim Burtonesque dress, in a bodycon styled stripe. I adored this dress ever since I saw in in the window at Lake Side. BUt I thought it was too expensive and that the white and stripes wouldn't look good on me. A long time later, I was browsing the store's sale, and I found exactly ONE left of this dress. It was a lot cheaper now, and even though it was a big size, I still tried it on. I LOVED it immediately, and even though I have to take it in allover and even shorten it a bit, I'm really happy that I still could score it. Yes, my butt looks enormous in it, but I love it so much, I don't really care :P

A simple skirt that reminded me a bit of steampunk, it was only 10 euro's at McFibre, so I took it home with me. It looks awesome with my steampunk-like shoes.

They also had this one hanging in fron of the shop. With Sid being a big Star Wars fan, and it only costing 1 euro(!?) I had to buy it :)

All from Action:

Very Sapph like tops, which was between 3 and 4 euros I believe. The colours are much deeper/darker and warmer though.

And a simple lace top. I love layering tops wtih lace tops, so this will probably be paired with a black top.

In search of flat shoes/bootd that I could walk on longer, I found these. Most flatheeled boots look well..dull. So these still have a heel, but I can walk on them much longer without pain than other heeled boots I have. I like the bands with the clasps at the side, makes them look a bit tougher. These are from Van Haren.

Simple grey knitted dress that folows the bodies cruves. I have to take in the waist though. I love simple dresses like this one.

Some jewelry:
A bracelet with some roses and stuff hanging from it. A brooch with a skull that Sid really liked. A silver ring, and some hairclips.

Close up of the ring, I love the way the leaves bend around my finger. It was only 2,99 I believe :)

And one of my already fav bracelets, a wraparound which is formed by two leaves.

I know it looks like a lot, but this was over a time period of 4 or 5 months, so I think it's not that bad. :)

A fun weekend at my parents' house

Eindhoven trainstation, waiting for our train to go back home.

We had a wonderfull and fun weekend, with great weather and a lovely party. It was great to see everyone again. Especially after so long. Going home afterwards is always a sad and joyous occasion. I love going to my own home, to hug my cats, to sleep in my own (much softer) bed. But weekends like this also make me miss my parents that much more, so it always has a sad tinge to it aswell.
Still, I'm glad I was able to see them again, and we had a lot of fun :)

NOTD: Golden Rose Holographic 119

This is an NOTD with the beautifull dark grey colour by Golden Rose.

It is said to be holographic, and it is. Just not all over, but more of a holographic glitter effect, which is still pretty!

I love the way it sparkles but still remains that somewhat darker colour.

It's hard to catch the holographic effect on cam, because it won't give that one big rainbow on each nail. But when you click on the pic, you'll see it well enough.

This is the colour without lighting, it reminds me a bit of an LE polish by Essence, which was also a holographic darker grey.

I don't remember what it costs, but it's available at Enchantra, and there are several colours to choose from.

NOTD: Simple Halloween Nails

I wanted my nails to fit the theme at the halloween party last sunday, but I also had to work on fridaynight and saturday. So I decided to do a very simple version.

I applied Collistars Bordeaux Perlato, which is a beautifull red.

Then I took some halloweenstickers from Coloclub, and applied 3 of them on one nail to create a halloweenscene.

I think the effect is simple, yet effective. I really liked it. I got a compliment on my nails from a customer aswell :)

EOTD and Outfit: Halloweenparty at Enchantra

When Enchantra decided to throw a halloweenparty, I was immediately excited: I love dressing up and halloween is one of my fav holidays. Even though it's not celebrated in the Netherlands :P

Linda had asked if Siney wanted to do tarotreadings for everyone who was coming, so he would be part of the entertainment. I decided to go for a simple outfit, because all of my Fantasy costumes have wings and such and are NOT suitable for indoors. And besides, I wanted to be comfortable in the train, which we have been in for 7 hours total!
Anyway, I thought it would be fun for me and Sid to go as matching outfits, so we went for gypsies, since it would look good with the tarotcards :)

I totally forgot to take ANY pics, so these are all made at home around 22:30 at night, when I was really tired. So don't mind the halfrubbed off eyebrows and the without-using-a-mirror-applied-lipsick. ;)

Most of my outfit came fom my own closet. The ausbrenner velvet skirt was selfmade years ago, aswell as the satin underskirt that made it a bit more poofy.
The top, I made the friday before the party, because I decided that bare shoulders would be a bit cold in octobre, even though its more of a gypsy style.
The corset is from my own closet. The scarfs, both came from my work, Takko.
The silver necklace and the silver bells hip[chain were both from my own stash, I bought the silver hooprings, because Ive never worn any earrings like those before.
Oh and I had a little silver hoop in my nose, from my own stash aswell.

Simple, but it worked :)

When we just sat in the train to go to Enchantra, the ticketguy told us two other people that were dressed up were in the same train. So around Amsterdam Sloterdijk, we got together with Agnetha and Linda. (It's also where Sid discovered Starbucks!)
They were both dressed in pretty selfmade dressed and did their makeup in the train.(And for some reason a little kid wanted to take a pic...of Sidney!?) It's fun to watch other people doing their own makeup, because everyone used different techniques.

My own makeup was pretty simple, I had to go out of bed pretty early, so I didn't want to have to do too much that early. I'm not a morningperson :P

For some reason, Fox really liked Stella, which made my moving eyelid a mix of the both. I didn't really mind, because it still looked good. Also, when I was home, I saw that my other eye's fake lashes was loose in the middle. No idea how long ago that happened. Oops! :)

On my lips I has Sleeks true colour lipstick Cherry, and some Light Burgundy blush by Catrice on my cheeks.

I found some pics online of us, mostly Sid, because I did my best to avoid cameras :P You could have taken your pics by a proffessional photographer upstairs at Enchantra, which I was asked to do a couple of times, but I'm not someone who loves posing for pics. Most of the time I end up looking really werd, hahah.

I want to thank Linda and Robert for a great party, and ofcourse everyone else for the amazing company. I had fun talking to all of you :)
Agnetha and Linda made the long(er) trainride back seem a lot les long and it was a lot of fun meeting them and talking to them for hours.
I think everyone had a great time, and it's definately something to be repeated.

Oh, and some last scary stuff: I didn't buy ANYTHING! :P

8th year anniversary

Yesterday, it was our 8th year anniversary! We had a busy busy weekend, I had to work on saturday, had to go to a bday at night and the next day we went to the Halloweenparty in Zeeland. So we didnt really have a lot of energy left on monday to celebrate.

We both had to work, but my wonderfull hubby came to pick me up, and had a beautifull red rose for me, the same rose I used as flowers for my wedding. So sweet of him!

We are definately going out to dinner at the Hielander to celebrate, but we decided to do that when we have some more time to enjoy it :)

Giveaways Update

I didn't expect so many people to participate in the giveaway(s)!!
I really need some time to sort through all of them, and make sure everyone gets the right amount of entries.
I'll be posting the winner as soon as I know, but gimme some time (I still have to work and have a life ;) ). I also want to do something wih all the comments about the blog, so I might change some stuff, which also need stime. Something I usually dont have a lot of lying around ;)

One of the comments that was written most, was about the width of my text and pics. I totally agree, but unfortunately, this template can -not- be made wider. Which is a shame since I totally customized it. I have to search for a diff template and customize that one, which will need lots of my patience and time. But I -am- looking into it.

Also, some people don't like the colours Ive used(most do though, thanx!) Unfortunately for those people, I will NOT change to the recommended pinks and similar colours. I'm not -just- a makeup blog, so I do things my way. And I happen to like green...a LOT. Also, I don't want to look like all the other blogs out there. Just be gratefull I havent used my fav colours red and black, that would really have made your eyes hurt ;)

Anyway, I really appreciate all the comments, and I'm sure going to use them to make the blog more interesting. That being said, I'll be posting more about personal and other stuff aswell. I like blogging about anything, and I've decided that this is the way to go for me. I'll still post EOTDs and such, but not just everyday. I'll try to mix it up as best as I can :)

Sid loves leather bracelets, and he loves wolf/cat paw prints.

We both love The Nightmare before Christmas, but still didn't on the soundtrack on cd. That's fixed now. :)

I love the way you get to see inside and watch it tick!

Leather bracelet for me, it's one of a kind. The guy who made this makes beautifull leather corsets, armtcuffs, neckcorsets, etc. He told me he had only a small piece of this special leather and he had used it in patchwork style in some long armcuffs. Unfortunately, those were to small for Sid. But then I found this little bracelet and it fit me! (Usually they are wayyyyy to big for me)

I love venetian masks, and this one reminded me of them.

Another tarot deck for Sids extensive collection.

A makeupmirror for my mom. I own a sililar one with a peacock(see caslefest haul of last year), and since she adores butterflies, I had to buy it.

Some leatherpieces for Sod to see if he can tattoo them and make armcuffs out of.

We also bout another big Nerf gun for Sid to pimp and two beautifull The Nightmare Before Christmas mugs. I;ve somehow misplaced those pics *frowns*

NOTD: Ms Hautie isn't so hot

This is an NOTD of Colorclubs Ms Hautie.

It's a grey which has a beautifull pink shine over it in the bottle. But on the nails this shine unfortunately does NOT show.

The glitter are chunky and after applying it on my nails, they look like I dippd them in sand before I painted them.

I'm not often dissapointed in a nailpolish, sometimes I'm not very fond of a colour, but almost never do I find a polish absolutely rubbish. Well, this one kinda is. Don't get me wrong, some poeple might really like this one, it's just not the right polish for -me-.

Luckely, I have all kinds of topcoats in my stash, so I turned to my Hello, Holo by Essence, and this is what I got:

World Animal Day!

Today it's World Animal Day, on which we take extra good care of our pets. Well, actually, my cats are spoiled enough already as it is, but you know what I mean :).
