EOTD & Outfit: Peacock Eyes

This is once again an EOTD inspired by peacockfeathers. I have this gorgeous peacockfeather maxi dress that I finally got to wear last weekend! I wanted to do a look that matched the design of the dress.

It's such a shame that you can't see the glittery hotness that is Royal Sugar. Everytime I saw myself in the mirror, I just saw this gorgeous glittery blue around my eyes. It's so awesome as an eyeliner! (I applied it on top of Pretty Petrol below my eyes, stays in place better this way.)

LOTD:

I only had some Unbeleaf'able blush by Catrice on my cheeks, and Gosh' Soft n Shine Perfect Plum on my lips.

I wore really simple wedges with black elastic bands on them, a uniquely made leather bracelet, hairflowers and my Vogue sunglasses.

How To: Super Easy Big Hair

I've watched a video on youtube a while ago, and this tutorial seemed like an easy way to create waves. What I didn't think about, was the volume it would give me. I'm not used to volume, hahaha.

Normally, after I wash my hair, I twist my hair in 2 little buns at the back of my head. I then go to bed, or if I was superbusy before, I'll wear them to work. I don't really like the look, but for some reason, I always get compliments on them. :)

Anyway, I tried this tutorial, and I thought maybe other people would like to try it out aswell.

What to do:
-First, you need a sock you dont use anymore, and an elastic band.
-You cut the toes off and start rolling the edge of the remaining part over the rest of the sock, into a donut.
-Wash your hair. I didn't put anything in it, but you could use a mousse or something for extra volume.
-Then you make a ponytail on the top of your head with the elasticband.
-This is what might be a bit tricky if you have a lot of hair. You put the donut around the ponytail and the end of your hair. You twist the ends around it, and then you start rolling the donut down, with your hair around it. Try to even the hair around the donut a bit. You will end up with a big bun on your head.

This is the result:

You won't need any pins or something like that, it will stay where it is!

You could also use this to create a big bun, that looks like it has lots of hair. But if you wear it like a bun outside, you should really try to get the hair evenly around the donut and put stray hairs into the bun. It'll look much more pretty that way.

Since, I was going to sleep with this bun, it didn't really matter. ;)

The nice thing about this bun, is that you won't feel it while you're sleeping, because you're not laying on top of it. I usually have two buns at the back of my head, against my neck, and you really feel those when you put your head on your pillow.

Still in place, and some stray hairs that dried up and were to short to be kept in the bun.

When I unrolled the bun, this is what my ponytail looked like:

And when I got the elastic band out of my hair, it looked like this:

Lots and lots of volume!
I'm pretty sure, you can create even more volume, if you apply a mousse or something before you put the bun in.

This is not really a good way for me though, because I don't really like the volume on top of my head, I rather have more waves. But if you have a lot of hair of longer hair, this might be perfect for you :) Then again, not everyone wants a lot of waves, so with shorter hair you could still use it for the volume.
For now, I'll stick with my two buns at night. But if I ever need some volume for a nice hairdo, I'll definately try this bun again!

EOTD: Gosh Greens

I haven't been online much, but it's finally looking like it might be summer, and I've promised myself to soak up as much of it as I can. Last year we didn't really have a great summer, so I want to cherish every sunny day I can get. It seems this nice weather might be gone already around here, because they say the temperature will drop to a mere 16 degrees the next days :( We'll see if it will get better, but at least I've enjoyed the days that have been nice :)
I love the summer, so It might happen more often that I don't post that much, but I'll try to update from time to time :)

A few weeks ago, we had arranged a surprise dinner for my sister in laws birthday. We went to a really cute and tiny chinese restaurant, with amazing food. We had a lot of fun and ate a lot :)

I've always loved the colour green, and every once in a while I just HAVE to do a green EOTD :)

The kohlpencil is mostly gone here, the pics were made after the dinner. My eyes don't really like things on their waterline, so it starts to dissapear in the outer eye corner and eventually it's all gone.

I love the way these greens shine when the lights hit them.

Look at that necklace, don't you just love it? I usually wear simple pendants, but I really like the intricate design of this one.

Since she's really into cooking lately, I decided to make her this. I actually wanted to do more with it, but decided agaisnt the idea: I really wanted her to be able to wash it properly after cooking. So I kept it pretty simple with some beige cotton, some black lace, and some oldschool embroidered cotton lace. There are quite some layers of beige and black lace on there, but you can't really tell from a distance.
She was really happy with it, so I was happy aswell :)

I don't have any pictures yet of my MothersDay gift for my mom, because we decided to take her to a big indoor butterfly garden in the neighbourhood. So we have to pick a date for that one, and I'll definately make pics then :)

EOTD: Gold and Brown

For this EOTD, I decided to try a combination of gold and browns. The lighting for the pictures was a bit wonky though, not sure why. I also used a different eyeshadowbase for this one, the Lime Crime eyeshadow helper.

Look at the difference in colour, this was supposed to be in daylight.....so where IS the light? *frowns*

I think the eyeshadow helper didn't really help stick Goldilux to my eye, but then again, I only saw these 'bald' spots on te pictures, not in real life. Might be a weird reflection or something.

I really like this combination of colours, it gives a neutral brown look something special :)

Latest Fashion Haul

Here it is again, my latest fashion haul. Most came from another trip to Primark with my collegue, and (with a big discount) from the store where I work. Also, at the bottom, there's something that's been on my wishlist for quite a while, and now it's mine!

Don't mind the cathairs you see, every time I put something on the floor, the cats race over to it and roll around on top of it. You never see them do that when I WANT to capture them on cam. Lol.

Anyway, on to the pics..

These three were all on sale and around 3 euros each:

A really cute cardigan with a low front, so you can still show your top underneath. I absolutely adore this one. It's a bit puffy at the top of the sleeves and the colour is a really nice mix between bordeauxred and darkviolet.

I thought this one was kinda cute, and I liked the colours and print on it. I'm probably going to add some straps though, I don't like strapless clothing.

I think this one is really funny, and as a catlover, I can definately appreciate it.

Normal collection:

I was a bit in doubt over this one, but in the end, decided it was only 9 euros and I'd probably regret it, if I didn't take it home with me. It's a light coloured dress, which resembles white when you pour tea over it. No idea how I should describe it otherwise, hahah. It also -really- shows off my hourglass shape.

Simple top..which is actually a dark purple...

I always have a hard time finding shoes, especially shoes for summer. I have really small(width) feet, and I can't wear pumps or ballerinas without straps. Also, if theres a too big peeptoe, my whole foot tries to crawl through it. So I was really sursprised when I found summershoes at Primark that fit!

Simple slingback wedges. I already own some, but these wedges are a bit smaller at the back, which will walk much more comfortable. Also, I didn't have any white ones yet. I had to get a size 36 instead of 37 on these, because the slingback would just fall off my heel.

I think these will come in handy for work and long walks. I had to get a 38 on these though *frowns*. Too bad, because in my own size, they had like all the colours of the rainbow, and they were only 4 euros a pair!

I like to sleep in things like these. Especially this one will be great for summer, because it's made from a really light fabric that will stay cool to the touch in warm weather.

BRIGHT pink skinny jeans, no idea what my camera did to the colour here :(

I'm a very pale girl, always have been, so I couldn't really wear pale colours, especially not white. But, recently, I found out, that white doesn't make me look sickly pale anymore.

I'm not sure if it's the fact that my red roots give some more warmth to my face, or it's because I finally know how to apply blush to my face, without looking like a ...well..let's use the word clown ;)

Anyway, when I found out, I immediately took advantage of that knowledge:

Simple white top, with a cute border and little buttons.

I love the print on this one, butterflies always remind me of my mom :)

I LOVE this top, it has some really cute embroidery around the neckline and the front. It also has really cute cap sleeves and a high collar. this was the first thing I grabbed, to try on in white. I think this will look fabulous with a vest, a corset, or with a highwaisted skirt.

Some basics, mostly for work outfits:

Once again, a really nice purple, that shows up blue? And a one sleeved longtop/dress

From the market:

A simple black jacket with half length sleeves. I think this will be really nice to have in the summer evenings, of when it's not as warm out as I would like it to be.

Bought Online:
This is what I bought most recently, it actually came in, only 2 days ago. It has been on my wishlist for quite some time, but I never thought I could get away with the colour. But since I DO get away with it now, it's finally MINE!

Maxi dress by Pussy Deluxe, with a peacock on the fron, and a really cute rose border at the bottom.
It's a bit too long, but I think I can take it in and still save the border at the bottom. I really don't want to have to wear high heeels in the summer with a dress like this. Way to uncomfortable, rather walk barefoot or something like that :)

Really really REALLY happy with this one. Now bring on the sun!

EOTD: From Monaco to Curacao

I decided to do a look with some palettes that I really don't use enough and just see where I would end up.

I used Sleek's Monaco and Sleek's Curacao palettes for this EOTD.

I absolutely ADORE the colour Hummingbird, it gives this beautiful golden shine over that light turquoise...it's gorgeous!

I will always love the combination of purple and turquoise and this is definately a new favourite version of that combo.

EOTD: Pink Peacock

I'm not sure what went wrong with this one, but this looked really different in real life. The colours are totally different and you can't see any of the green glitters in the pink :(

Ebay Haul

I scored all of the jewelry for just a couple of euros :)

This was over a month ago, but just recently, the latest package arrived. It took some time, but at least it got here!

Big fly ring, it came in broken though, emailed them about it. Might make a hairclip out of this one.

This was all stuffed in a tiny envelope, hahaha.

Peacock, and green...do I need to explain?

A pink peacock, well, I didn't have one of those yet, I thought this was awesome!

This was actually filling, to empty my paypal, it's weird how cheap jewelry is on ebay. I do think it's cute though, not sure yet about the stones.

For some reason, the pictures of the two below, dissapeared of my cam:

Awesome birdskull ring!, It was super tuny though, tried to cut it to make it bigger for my fingers, but even with my childsize fingers, the gap became too big. So now it;s a ring for my pinky :)

I thought this would be small, and I have really small wrists, but this one was HUGE on me. I gave it to a collegue of mine :)

Clips for extensions and other hairstuff.

This was supposed to be the necklac for my Red Riding Hood outfit, but it took over a month to arrive. It's now Sids, we both love wolves :)

I was really happy to get these two for a lot less than they are on stores:

A red Vive Maria top, never seen this one before. I love red, and combined with black it's a perfect match for me. It's simple, but with enough details, to make it cute.

I adore this one! Never seen this model before either, proclaimed to be a limited edition, not sure if that's true though. I love the different fabrics and the neckline. I think this is a very nice addition to my Vive Maria / Pussy Deluxe collection! :)

So that's what you can do with a small amount of money on ebay if you're bored ;)

A while ago, I have been contacted by SmartBuyGlasses, if I was interested in writing an advertorial for them. I thought that was a nice offer, so I agreed. At first they thought I might like to try a Ray Ban aviator, but I'm really not into such sunglasses, so I got to pick one myself.

They have the most popular sunglasses in stock, but you can order other sunglasses aswell. These will be ordered at the manufacturer and send to you, when they are back in stock. I'm a bit difficult with sunglasses, I think they don't look good on me and are always wayyyyy too big. But in the end, I went for something safe and I picked these:

The Vogue V02726S.

It took a little while to arrive, but since the postal service has been delayed for a bout 2 weeks lately, I didn't really think any of it. When the package arrived though, I noticed that it came from Hong Kong, so it arrived pretty fast actually :)

I might be weird in this, but I like these 'personal' messages in boxes:

Everything was wrapped neatly and secure in bubble plastic.

The sunglasses came with a free cleaning kit, as told on the site, and it's own case.

The sunglasses with their own Vogue casing and a cleaning towel. The legs of the glasses were neatly wrapped in plastic to avoid scratching.

The free cleaningkit that came with the glasses, consists of lens cleaner, another cleaning towel and a little screwdriver.

I really like these sunglasses, they feel superlight on my nose and the lenses don't distort colours like some cheaper sunglasses might do. They might be a bit big, but they don't look too weird on me :)

NOTD: Copper'ize Me!

This is a NOTD with Rimmels Black Out as a base, and Essence' Copper'ize Me! special effect topper. I think this is pretty new, because it had a 'new'sticker on it, but then again, sometimes the older products have them aswell. I'm a little behind on all the collections that are out nowadays, especially these, because my own Kruidvat doesn't have them.

This topcoat has a clear (a bit light pink) base and is filled with multi coloured glitters. I can spot green, gold, silver, red and so on. I think it gives a really fun effect on the black base, but might be nice on other colours aswell.

Bling bling! These glitters give you a lot of bling inside, but outdoors they really sparkle!

Elf Fantasy Fair Haul

I wanted to post this blog earlier, but we had trouble with our modem, so it took me a little while longer.

This time, we mostly bought jewelry,weirdly enough, that wasn't really what we were looking for, it just sort of happened :)

Sid's stuff:

An Alchemy necklace Sid has had on his wishlist for ages, and it was on sale for just a couple of euros.

A raven necklace. He already has one by Alchemy, but he Liked this one a lot aswell.

We picked these up from someone who made them from something that can take a beating. Apparantly her son was really into skulls and such, but since he was just a kid, he tended to break things. I like that they are handmade, and were cheap, hahaha. The left one is Sids, the one on the right is mine.

The same woman made thise one, but this is made from pewter. I talked Sid into this one, I really loved it!

More tarotdecks for Sids collection. The one on the right is an LE and is a see through deck!

Apparantly, we couldn't go with Dr Who's, whitout picking up the Dr's sonic screwdriver.

2 books and a dvd, we both like Terry Pratchett a lot, and the middle one is for a steampunkstyle series that we got from a friend.

My stuff:

Venetian Mask earrings. Not sure if I'll wear them as earrings or make them into pendants, but I just had to have these :)

Really really really love this one. Already saw it as Castlefest and was not too happy that I didn't take it with me. It's perfect for V shaped necklines.

A simple but cute dress with lots of buttons by Hell Bunny. I think this will look really cool with my military style bolero.

I just love these kind of pendants, too bad the one with the heart(printed like the one on the left) was sold out, but I'll get it some other time. I already have one like the ones on the left, but these are different colours and sized cameos.

Then I found something that I have wanted for quite some time, but it was not cheap. BUt we fund out, that if you bought for a certain amount, you got this one for free:

So I decided that in the end, it was not THAT expensive (really wasn't anyway), and bought it:

Lots of people probably think this is weird, but I absolutely LOVE it.

It's a real mouse skull set on a cameo, and because it's a real skull, it's a one of a kind piece. I love those.

I do have to be careful with it though, because, even though it's cast in raisin, the sides are still pretty fragile. It even still has its teeth.

I wasn't sure if I'd buy it at first, because it's a bit fragile, but Sid talked me into it. He knows I've been looking at pieces like this online for quite some time, and here it was, up for grabs. He knew I would regeret it later, if I didn't buy it. I'm really glad I have it now, and even though it's not a piece I can wear every day, it will still be one of my most treasured pieces.

We also bought some things for Merlijn, but I totally forgot to make pics of those, oops!

EOTD: Tropical Green and Pink

This is an EOTD I did to match my cute skull and bows hairclips. I loved the colourcombo and wanted to try these colours on my eyes.

This is weirdly enough what happened in sunlight, so I decided to take the rest of the pics with flash. Even though the flash washes out a bit of the colour and density, it still shows the look better than this.

I really love this green, it's a shame I haven't used it more. I'll probably use this palette more when the sun shines, which is soon, hopefully. Colours like these really lift my mood, so maybe I should use them more when the suns is gone aswell :)

To add some extra pink, I applied Gosh' Tropical Pink lipstick on my lips, with a little bit of Lime Crime's Cherry on Top...well..on top of it, haha.

I really like this colourcombo, and I totally adore my new hairclips :P

NOTD: Glitter Queensday Nails

Last monday it was Queensday, and ofcourse I did a manicure for it.

Don't mind the cathair on the ringfinger though, I didn't notice it until after I made the pics, my cats always want to cuddle after I do my nails. :)

It's been a year and two days since we lost our beautiful, sweet Greebo :( , I still miss her and I still can't look at her pics without crying. But today, is a festive day, it's been exactly a year, that Freya was born, and I want to dedicate this post to that wondrous event.

Freya has always been a very active kitten, who had no time for cuddles. Every sound, of even seeing her own tail, made her jump up and run off again. But after her surgery, she relaxed more and more, and now, being a year old, she finally can give in a bit to relaxing and cuddling and purring. Maybe in a couple of months, she will be just as cuddly as Loki :)

But she will always have this attitude.... :) :

Elf Fantasy Fair Pictures (and EOTD)

Last sunday, we went to the Elf Fantasy Fair at Haarzuilens. As always, I made a costume, but since I didn't have a lot of time to make one, I decided to go for something simple and practical.
In the end, I only had 2 days to do everything, and considering I did half by hand, it turned out pretty good.

Checking if we have our tickets and other important stuff with us:

Putting on my corset. The weather was supposed to be very cold and rainy, so I decided to wear a sweater. It made the corset look a bit bulky, but at least I wasn't feeling like a popsicle:

It was so much fun to see how many people recognized Merlijn. People were yelling ''fezzes are cool'' and ''bowties are cool'' all day long. People were also running after him, asking if they could be on a picture with him.

I had no time to try out some makeuplooks this time, so I decided to go for something simple. But, not being a morningperson and getting ready with 3 people wayyyy to early on a day off, made me forget to take pictures of my look.
So here are some after all the rain and wind, which caused the glitter to dissapear almost entirely and you can even see some base shining through now. The black on my waterline is almost gone aswell. Yeah, I didn't really make it waterproof, oops.

I've been superbusy lately and I've been having probems with our modem.
I have an appointment with a mechanic, but it's not even scheduled for next week, so I'll just have to hope I can still blog untill then.
Our modem is having a problem they have never heard of before, so I'm interested to see what the hell is wrong with it.
I'll try and post a blog with Elf Fantasy Fair pics tomorrow, and we'll see if I can go on blogging after that.

EOTD: Jungle Fever

I still had to try my Jungle Fever eyeshadow by Essence, so I decided to pair it with some Aquarelle Duo Chalks by Catrice.

Sorry, for some reason the pictures from the front were all blurry, so I added a smaller version. This way, you can still see the colours a bit. :)

With some Sleek, Fenberry in my cheeks, and Maybelline's Pleasure Me Red on my lips:

These duo chalks really blend well with eachother and other eyeshadows, I also like the soft look they create. But for me, it definately needs a bit of dark with some eyeliner and bold lips.

NOTD: Miss Money Penny

This is a NOTD with one of the Catrice Millions Styles Effect Top Coats, Miss Money Penny.

I applied it over a black base, and as you can see on the pictures below, it gave the nails a golden shine.

In direct sunlight, the topcoat also had beautiful golden and orange sparkles.

I think I'm going to try this out with a red base aswell, or maybe green, I'm curious to see what happens then :)

NOTD: Blue/Silver Crackle

This is a NOTD with the Blue crackle polish 'Crack Me! Blue' by Essence.
I applied it on top of China Glazes 'Cheers to You'.

I really like this blue crackle: it's filled with shimmer and the kind of blue that I like to wear.
But as you can see, this crackle really shrinks away from the cuticles and even takes the polish underneath, with it.

This crackle takes a while to strat crackling and because it needs to be applied pretty think, on some parts it doesn't really crackle at all.

It's a shame that this crackle polish shrinks, but I still got compliments on my nails anyway :)

Simple EOTD with Inglot eyeshadows

This is an EOTD from before my stomachflu, but since I only used one of my Inglot palettes, it's not hard to remember what colours I used. :)

This is a very simple EOTD, but I really like it anyway. I might try it again with some eyeliner added to it.

Product used:

AMC Shine 45 , AMC Shine 44 and Pearl 423

I simply used the same order of colours of the palette from inner eye corner to outer V. Then I applied a bit more of the green above the crease to make it a bit less dark. Below the eyes, I applied the yellow(?) and brown colour again instead of eyeliner.

I like the way these colours go together, and especially the brown. It's a brown that I didn't really have in my stash yet, and I'm really glad I bought it. I might try and combine it with my Sleek Oh So Special palette soon, I think that could look really beautiful aswell.

NOTD: A Walk in the Park

Let me start by saying: Happy Birthday!!!!, because it's my brothers birthday today! I hope you're having a wonderfull day! :)

This is a NOTD with one of the colour3 polishes by Essence.

A Walk In the Park is a nice green with a teeny tiny sparkle in it. The topcoat that goes with it, is called Stop for an Icecream. This topcoat is a milky substance filled with tiny glitters.

Since there was no sun when I made these pics, I tried to capture the sparklies with different lighting. This was the best I could do, yes, I'm a bad photographer, sue me.

Don't look at the nail on the left, I bumped it. You looked, didn't you? :P

I think this is a fun combination of colours and the topcoat really gives the green something extra. The polishes both apply very easy, but the topcoat didn't dry as fast as I'm used to.
All in all, I think this is a nice polish for this amount of money. It costs only 2,79 euros ad you can ofcourse combine topcoats and polishes if you have more than just one :)

Cirque du Soleil

As I've told you yesterday, we went to see the show Corteo last sunday. It was a great show, and we had a wonderfull time.

Right art of the revolving stage and the painted curtains. There was a catwalk behind them, and they used lighting to make it look like people were flying behind it.

We weren't really allowed to make pics in The Grand Chapiteau(tent), oops, so I didn't make any of the show. We did buy the program which has some beautiful pics in it.

The show Corteo is about an old clown that is on his dyingbed, being visited by angels, and looks back on his life through circusacts. The subject is a tiny bit gloomy, but the show had a lot of humour in it.

This was amazing, there were actually 3 chandeliers, with girls doing incredible things without any safety net or rigs.

This act was done by a different artist than you see on the pic, but it was really cool. There was a whole rig of ropes and heavy locks to move her around and up in the air.

Always love these kind of acts, at one point she was hanging on just one foot.

This was a funny and cute act, they send her fluing above the audience, and every time she dropped a bit, the audience had to push her up and back to the stage.

Another incredible act, there was this big net underneath that other people used to 'fly' by really fast with acrobatic moves in flowy costumes, there were no pics of those in the program though.

We bought the program and the cd, if you bought them at once, you got a discount. Funny thing, we already had the dvd, but hadn't watched it yet.

Our souvenir. Not many may know that I sort of collect handmade Venetian masks. How do you sort of collect? Well, I've always loved Venetian masks, and when I was in Venice many many years ago, I bought a beautifull handmade catmask. I'm not collecting them very active, but through the years, they seem to find me. A friend brought one home for me from Venice, I picked on up for a costume once, which has ended up on my wall, and now I have a new addition. I do still regret not buying the one I found online once that was made purely of black lace. But when I come across one like that again, it will certainly be added to my collection.

Anyway, they sell a lot of merchandis at Cirque du Soleil, and they also sold 4 different mini masks that were all handmade in Italy. This one really gave off that Venetian vibe, and I went over them all, to pick out the most beautiful one. Even though my masks are handmade, I always try to find the ones that are more symmetrical.

I really liked Corteo, but it was really different from Totem. Corteo went a bit back to the basics of circus acts, and had a bit more of a storyline. Where as Totem was really colourfull with the makeup and costumes and had whole new kinds of acts. Sid really loved the music of Corteo and I agree, but I still liked the music of Totem more He liked Corteo more than Totem, but Totem is still my favourite, I liked the act and its colourfulness more, it had a different kind of energy. And ofcourse the fact that it was a lot more colourfull and with more interesting costumes. I love costumes ;)
