EOTD: Sorcerers Blue

I want to thank everyone for their birthdaywishes!!!! And no it wasn't a fun day: I had a bad cold, had to work, and at the end of the day I had a sore thoat and a fever. So I mostly worked and slept, hahah.

I based this EOTD on some colours of a Sorcerers Apprentice poster, the movie we were going to see that night.(but we never got there, remember?) The poster consisterd mostly of black with some azure and blues.

Products used:
  • Raffida Quartetta Palette(highlighter)
  • Gosh Effect Powder, Azure
  • Gosh Effect Powder, Blue Diamond
  • Sleek palette(weet niet meer welke), black
  • Essence Kajal, Nightfever

I've applied Azure on my whole eyelid and into the crease. Then I blended it above the crease and applied some highlighter. I've applied some Blue Diamon right above the Azure above the crese and blended it ith the highlighter.

Then I took a black eyeshadow and applied it into the crease. This gives a lot of depth to the makeup, and it gave a great colour(not black as all!) on the eye.

I think I applied Essence kajal liner below the eye...but it also could have been a dark blue from the Sleek (storm?) palette. It's been a while so I'm not sure, haha. THe highlight colour in the inner eyecores is probably from a bourjois smokey eye trio.....

Yeah, def don't want to write blogs about old EOTD's, because I'll never remember what I've used, ahhaha.

NOTD: Red Leopard

For this NOTD I used Bourjois Rouge Backstage. It;s a pretty bright red, firetruckred. On the picks it shows up lighter and more irange toned than it really is though.

I used a Konad imageplate and black Konad special polish to stamp on the leopard print.

I really liked this mani and I think I'll be doing it more often.

I still wish Konad would make longer naildesigns, so I wouldn't have to make up the tips of my nails.

Castlefest Costume pics and some sad news

Let's start with the sad news...
Last saturday when my skin was itching and flaming again, I took another antihistamine. In the middle of making dinner, my beloved called me. He was at his parents house and his father just got home from work. His father heard some disturbing news on the radio and that's why Sid called me.
Apparantly, my the store I worked at in my hometown, the store where my mom still works, for over 15 years now, was on fire.
Ofcourse, having the week I was having, my internet refused to work and I couldn't get any information. I called my parents though, who just got home from the fire.
The weirdest part? My mom had to work that day, and she got to go home early, because my dad had a day off. She could have been there when it happened, and something bad could have happened.
Anyway, this is what I heard:
Somewhere in the afternoon, smoke came out of the ceiling of the store. They immediately made sure all customers went outside. Not long after that the ceiling collapsed. The store burned. Now, there is a store next door, which belongs to the same building, aswell as an appartment. The store next door is lost aswell, and the appartment was still burning when I called my parents. My mom is pretty shaken, which I can understand.
I have no idea what will happen now, hopefully the insurance will cover everything. I feel really bad for my old boss, for the people of the store next door( I worked next to them for years), and also for the people who owned the appartment. Also, the previous store owners(who were boss to my mom then, I did some stocktakes for them aswell), had just gone on a vacation. I feel really bad for them.
Luckely noone was harmed, but when I saw the pics on Omroep Brabant, I was pretty shocked. Especially when I saw the vid that was made...how high can those flames reach? I mean, look at the old churchtower and then those flames?? And 8 other firedepartments had to help? For one building? That's pretty scary.
I can't even begin to imagine my howetown without the store. :(

Onto some happier things...
Here are I am with my beloved at Castlefest, in the shorter peacock costume I made:
The back of the skirt is a bustle which is pleated. Every pleat(?) has one big peacockfeather on it. Considering the amount of time I had(alomst none) I think it turned out pretty good. The bolero has the same silver fastening clip as the previous(long sleeved) bolero, but with the wings I decided to unclasp them, sometimes I just don't want anything tight around my neck. :)

I didn't really made any pics this time, I was busy shopping :P
I did find some pics online though...

Here I was looking at some costumes in the distance, and then..I was blinded by a flashlight:
Don;t you just love those stone mugs? They keep your drink really cool. :)
And on that note, I totally adore the ways they prepare food on Castlefest, especially this way:

Steak, Salmon, potatoes, you name it...it was alllllll goooooood :)

And then I found this one, which I think is a pretty nice picture :)

Face of the Day: Acute Allergy, What does it look like?

On wednesday, when I had the allergy attack, I made some pics. They aren't really good, because the flash made everything seem much more normal and paler than it was in real life. Still, I think I should share. If you ever see these things on your face: make sure to get away from sunlight and call a doc! You will need antihistamine to fight this.

Okay, so this is the left side of my face, right after we noticed the red flecks appearing. I immediately went inside, otherwise it could have been much, much worse. Last year, my whole face looked like that, blisters all over. My eyebrow was really starting to thicken and to swell, you might be able to see the red lumps there. See that lump below my eyes? Well, In reall life it was fire red on the sides and the middle was white, it was a blister, straining against my skin, and itching like hell. It really burned. The red on the pic was in real life flaming red, and it felt like that aswell. Also, notice the neckline, flecks were staring to apear there aswell, also on my upperarms.

My forehead, was totally red, and burned like I had put it onto the stove. I couldn't get a good picture of it, but this is where it started showing. They turned bigger and more firered after I took the anithistamine, because my body was fighting it. You can also see a lump on the left side next to my nose, that one was really big and really really red, and itching.

This is the right side of my face, it had red lumps and red flecks all over. It's really weird to see this pic and know it looked a lot worse. The lump on my nose just looks like a red fleck here. Also my neck and upperarms. In the neck area I got a blister that was 4 or 5 cm long. gawd it burned!

Ugh, I'm really annoyed at these pictures, I really couldn't get the right lighting, and I didn't dare using sunlight, because it could have made the reaction really violent(like last yr). Anyway, just imagine my face red, with flamingred spots, lumps and blisters. The flash just made everything really pale, which I certainly wasn't.

Today, I'm feeling a lot better.(I'm writing this on sunday). Yesterday at work I saw some red flecks appearing on my right jawline. My face also itched all day, luckely my collegue kept me from scratching. I wasn't sure if it still was the allergy or my skin just being oversensitive. Just to make sure it was all gone: I washed my face when I got home, aswell as my hair. So I was sure there wasn't anything weird touching my skin. And then I took one last pill. It didn't burn like the times before, so I think there wasn't much left to fight. I did get really tired again, and today I have a mild headache. But that's normal. My skin is feeling pretty okay, but will probably be sensitive for a while.
I'm trying not to use much on my skin, just to let it become normal again. So I will have to be creative with blogs for a couple of days. I still have some castlefest pics to show you, and mb some fashion hauls, I'll keep you entertained. :) (Ive also got some exciting news coming up...can you say giveaway? ;) )

No Face of the Day, cause the Face ain't There

I'm sorry, but the rest of this week, there will be no blogs. If you want an explanation: read on. If you don't: just ignore this and come back on monday.

On wednesday afternoon I got an acute allergic reaction in my face, neck and shoulders. And some on my back and arms. I've only had this once before, last year around the same time, which is weird.
Anyway we still don't know what caused it, probably juice of a plant or some insect that was carried with the wind. It was pretty windy yesterday, so that's all we can come up with, especially since I didn't touch any weird things yesterday.

My face started getting red, with flecks and blisters and it started itching and burning. I can tell you, this isn't fun. I'm used to itching because I had eczema all of my life, but this....this is horrible. Luckely for me, it wasn't as bad as last year, because I had to sit on my hands then to keep myself from scratching. It burns and itches more with every minute that passes and my face starts to swell in places which makes my skin feel really taut.

I called the emergencydocs because it was after closing time, and luckely for me, they gave me some pills last year that we're still usable. I had to take them ofcourse, but since I react really strong to medicine, they told me to start with half a pill. Last year I got a shot, because it was really -bad- and they gave me half the dose after I told them I react strongly. Well I was out for 2 days then and wasn't in the real world for a whole week.
This time I had to take the other half last night, because the blisters wouldn't dissapear. It really sucked, because we were spposed to go and see Sorcerers Apprentice. But we didn't go, because we knew how I would react to the antihistamine. My beloved is the sweetest though, so he went and rented some movies, bought some popcorn, so we could still have a fun night. I made it through Krabat/Master of the black mill, barely, and then fell asleep. Well, it was more of a coma.
Today, I woke up, with still some itchy spots, mostly on my jawline and around my left eye, so we decided I needed another half pill (I have to take the antihistamine untill it's all gone).
I'm pretty high right now, laughing at everything I say(I have no idea why), and I'm a bit dizzy, nauseous and have a mild headache. Mostly, there's just this weird fog in my mind. I'm totally aware of everything around me, but my body isn't. I keep letting things fall from out of my hands, and my speech and such don't react as fast as my mind. Yeah, lots of fun.
So I just called work to warn them, and that I probably shouldn't be behind a cashregister tomorrow. Lol.

Anyway, I didn't have any blogs scheduled anymore, and I can't put anything on my skin right now. So I don't really have anything to blog about. Also, since I'm a bit foggy, blogging might be a bit too difficult for me right now. I'm sure I have used weird grammar or words in this post, hopefully not, I'm concentrating really hard, while writing this. So I hope you all understand why I won't be posting a blog today and tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be back to my old self next week. Still, the antihistamine and it's effects can stay for 1 to 2 weeks....yeah...something to look forward to....*sigh*

So sorry again, and hopefully I'll see you soon!

EOTD & LOTD: matching colours with my shoes

This EOTD was created, looking at my shoes. I got them for my bday last year and really like the colour combo. This EOTD is a variation on one of my favourites.

I used the Sleep original palette for the petrol and purple, and the Sleek Graphire for the grey and highlighters.

I used Gosh Velvet touch eyeliner, Hypnotic Grey below my eyes to tone down on the colour.

I used Gosh Velvet Touch Lipstick Amethyst (a pearly lilac) with a little Essence XXXL Shine lipgloss Rock On(a shimmery purple) on the middle of my bottom lip.

Don't you just adore the Camee?

I used a little bit of EDM's Soft Butter Peach on my face and Catriice's Multicolour Rouge, Riviera Rose on my cheeks.

I'm not sure what I'm doing here, probably wishing for more hair, :P
